All Mankind have gained a loyal following across the USA, UK, and Australia, having performed over 500 times in the last three years to more than 100,000 fans. The band's live success has led to independent album sales in the thousands and award nominations for songwriting and performance in both Australia and America.
In 2008, All Mankind went into the studio with noted ARIA-winning producer David Nicholas (Elton John, Sting), and Peter Mayes (PNAU, Empire of the Sun). The resulting EP earned its way onto the airwaves of such diverse outlets as Indie 103.1FM Los Angeles, WRXP New York, MotorFM Germany, KNRK-FM Portland, OR, and ABC Radio Australia, while also gaining fans such as Mike Walsh, Music Director at the famed Xfm (UK).
Songs from the band's follow-up EP (mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Brandon Friesen) continued to have a strong radio reaction, and made their way into a number of prime time US television shows. “Open Your Eyes” was featured as the theme song in the TV promo for Emmy Award-winning ABC TV show “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.” In addition, their tune “Hollywood Tonight” has been heard regularly on MTV’s “The Hills.”
Now this quartet, currently based in Sydney but always on the go, released their eagerly anticipated, epic full-length album Simple Desire with Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, The Kooks and Mercury Prize-nominated act Foals) at The Motor Museum studios in Liverpool, England. Simple Desire was also mixed by Crossey and mastered by Robin Schmidt (Razorlight, VV Brown, Tommy Sparks, Go:Audio) at 24_96 Mastering in Germany.
This dynamic and inspiring collection of new music is sure to please the faithful while also recruiting many, many more fans to gather together beneath the All Mankind banner.
Break The Spell
All Mankind Lyrics

Was a world just like ours
Once beautiful, but every flower dies
In the soul of the men
Was a heart, brave and red
But cursed hearts can grow an ugly side
You got me
Got a chance
I believe
If love will come and break the spell tonight
Only love survives, only love survives
In the land, cold and wet
Is a hope, and a threat
It came crawling through the cover of the night
In the fear of defeat
Is a chance I believe
To return to who we once were meant to be
But I got you
You got me
Got a chance
I believe
If love will come and break the spell tonight
I got hope
There's a way
We can make it one more day
If love will come and break the spell tonight
Only love survives, only love survives

The lyrics of "Break The Spell" by All Mankind describe the idea that there was once a beautiful world just like ours, but over time it became corrupted and cursed. The song speaks of hope for redemption and returning to who we were meant to be. It suggests that only love can break this curse and is the key to survival in this world. In essence, the song is about the power of love to overcome and heal the world's problems.
The song's opening line alludes to a hidden past, which could be a reference to the idea of a lost civilization or perhaps a metaphor for our forgotten connection to nature. The line "every flower dies" can be interpreted metaphorically as a reminder that all things have their moment in the sun, but nothing lasts forever. The next line speaks of the heart of men, with a double meaning of both the physical heart and the metaphorical heart. The line suggests that even the longest and bravest of hearts can grow an ugly side, implying that everyone has a dark side to them.
The second verse speaks more of hope and redemption, the land is described as "cold and wet," which could symbolize the difficulties and struggles of life. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel; the song speaks of the potential to return to who we were meant to be. Finally, the song concludes with a message of hope, and the power of love to conquer all.
Line by Line Meaning
In the long, hidden past
There was a time far from memory
Was a world just like ours
When the world was like it is now
Once beautiful, but every flower dies
And all things eventually fade away
In the soul of the men
Deep within every person
Was a heart, brave and red
Lies a courageous and passionate heart
But cursed hearts can grow an ugly side
But sometimes those hearts can be corrupted
But I got you
But I have you, my love
You got me
And you have me
Got a chance
We have an opportunity
I believe
That we can succeed
If love will come and break the spell tonight
If we allow love to overcome our troubles
Only love survives, only love survives
And in the end, only love prevails
In the land, cold and wet
In a harsh and unforgiving environment
Is a hope, and a threat
There is both opportunity and danger
It came crawling through the cover of the night
Which arrives in secret and unnoticed
In the fear of defeat
Despite the fear of failure
Is a chance I believe
We have a real opportunity
To return to who we once were meant to be
To rediscover our potential and true purpose
I got hope
I am full of hope
There's a way
We can find a solution
We can make it one more day
And survive one more day
