Their debut album, All Saints, was released in 1997 with the first single "I Know Where It's At" reaching #4 on the UK charts. The next single, "Never Ever", launched All Saints as stars, selling over two million copies in the United Kingdom also. They later went on to release their second full length studio album, Saints & Sinners in 2000.
The band scored a total of five #1 singles. They split acrimoniously in 2001 after much speculation and rumour. Nicole and Natalie went on to form the duo Appleton, whilst Melanie and Shaznay have also gone on to enjoy (moderate) solo success.
On January 24, 2006 it was announced that the band had reformed. All Saints had signed a deal with Parlophone Records and their comeback single for the label, 'Rock Steady' was a considerable commercial success, charting at number 2. However, 'Studio 1', their third album peaked at a disappointing number 40 in the UK chart.
A further single - 'Chick Fit' - was released via download only, and the group left Parlophone shortly after in 2009.
In November 2013, it was announced that the group would be reforming to support the Backstreet Boys for five dates across the UK and Ireland in 2014.
"We are really looking forward to performing together as special guests of the Backstreet Boys," the group said in a statement.
All Saints will released their fourth studio album entitled Red Flag on 8 April 2016. The lead single from the album, "One Strike", was released on 26 February 2016.

You wake me when the phone vibrates
Your voice sounds dulled, but loud enough to hear you
Distant, echoes of my heart unbreak
Silently now, I'm waiting for this storm to come
I'm waiting for this this storm to come
Listen to you load that gun
I'm waiting for this storm to come
And with one strike
My world lights up in a fire
Call it a sign
Don't need hindsight
I'll make my emotions clear
And then disappear
With one strike (one strike)
Mmm, one strike
Shattered, pieces of your words take aim
Your poisoned tongue
But I don't want to believe you (don't want to believe you, don't want to believe you)
Torn up, stitches of my own heart ache
Violently numb, I'm ready for this storm to come
I'm ready for the storm to come
Listen to you load that gun
I'm ready for the storm to come
And with one strike
My world lights up a fire
Call it a sign
Don't need hindsight
I'll make my emotions clear
And then disappear
And with one strike
My world lights up in a fire
Call it a sign
And with one strike
One strike
With one strike
With one strike
One strike
With one strike
With one strike
I don't want to stay, time to go
I don't want to be in this home
Broken promises, time to leave
I had everything that you needed
I don't want to stay, time to go
I don't want to be in this home
Broken promises, time to leave
I had everything that you needed
And with one strike
My world lights up in a fire
Call it a sign
Don't need hindsight
I'll make my emotions clear
And then disappear
And with one strike
Mmm, with one strike
Oh-oh
Why'd you go lie?
Oh-oh
Why, oh, why?
Oh-oh
Watch you go by
Oh-oh
My, oh, my
The lyrics to All Saints's song One Strike describe the aftermath of a breakup, where the singer receives a phone call from their now ex-partner. The ex sounds distant, possibly due to being intoxicated, and in this moment, the singer feels like they are waiting for a storm to come. The storm being a metaphor for the inevitable emotional outburst and confrontation that they know is coming. The ex's words feel like a poison to the singer, and they know they have to leave this situation for good.
The chorus of the song highlights that with just one action, the entire relationship and world of the singer can change. They know that it is time to leave and that they do not need hindsight to understand that it is the right decision. The singer will make their emotions clear and disappear, indicating that they will stand up for themselves and move on.
Throughout the song, the singer seems to be going through a range of emotions from fear, to anger, to sadness, making the song feel very relatable to anyone who has gone through a difficult breakup. The lyrics are very emotional, and the melody and production of the song help add to the impact of the lyrics.
