I am 67, live in Denmark and heard this wonderful piece on the radio one late night in the sixties and it blew me away. It took me years to be connected with this tune again, but now I am with 2 new hips and dancing all along with this Roadrunner.

In August, 1967, my date, future wife for 46 years counting, went to a concert out in north west PA on a Sunday night where JW and his band were playing. At break, we talked to JW about his music and how much we liked the sound. Three years later we married and I am still "pulling him up on YouTuibe to celebrate that night! Absolutely Great! B & G

I am 73 and I adore this, first heard at the Crazy Horse, Baker street. London. where a girlfriend was dancing disco to it on stage in 1967, 50 years later we are still friends, and this still sounds great.

As a child of the seventies, being at a bbq when this song came on was a scary experience....at first. The grown folks would stop what they were doing and wild out dancing. It was quite an event. Miss those days.

First time I heard this song was in an auditorium in Rotterdam when I was 16 in 1966. A black man and a white woman were dancing on stage on this music. It blew my mind. No one in the place was moving and I went crazy: aren't these people hearing what I'm hearing??!! It was the first soul track I ever heard and it changed my life!

When I was about 18, I saw this guy perform on stage. Man, he was so bloody good, at one point, during his solo, one of the backing musicians had to check to see if he was all right. Junior had bent backwards on his knees, and carried on playing the sax. He was okay incidentally. It was a brilliant gig.

Saw Junior Walker about 15yrs back in a motown concert with Jimmy Ruffin and Edwin Starr.The night ended with this guy walking round the arena playing his sax followed by the whole audience.What a musician/performer

What a weave! The piano is pounding the chords, the guitar is interjecting those double-note bends, the organ is adding those wheezy fairground squeezes, the baritone sax is honking support to the bass, which is pedalling away with the kick-drum, tambourine on the off-beat, actually louder than the snare! Add vocal and mix! This is an absolute iconic track - and 1 person hasn't got ears. When the solo sax takes off you get goosebumps all across the shoulders and down the back. Peerless stuff!

Without a doubt the best small venue live show I ever saw. Banksville N.Y., Dearcrest people were dancing everywhere, on the dance floor, in the bar even on top of tables. That show is still fresh in my mind 47 years later.

When I get fed up with the year 2015 music? I flip to this to make me sane again. Bloody great sound and vibe. Down to earth that paved the way. This is a tight band. Thanks for the post.

These guys and many others paved the way for great bands from the sixties. Great music always survives. The Allstars helped artists to find a groove.

Jr Walker & The All Stars were indeed a great group. Remember, on the records, Jr. Walker performed with the Funk Brother instead of his group members.
