Stand Up
All That Remains Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know, no one had ever dreamed that
We were this strong and we'd achieve this
So long the doubt and all believed it
And now it's come for all to see yeah

We've worked, so hard
Pushed every day now
See the blood sweat and tears on our face
We've never been stronger
There's no holding back now
So you can hear us say

Stand up, stand up we were right
You know we can't be more justified
And they can't deny it
Stand up, stand up we were right
We've come to far just to fade away
And they can't deny it

I've hear the words those in the circle say
So what, they're done, don't matter anyway
Well here's your proof, they're all silent today
And there's no way they can take it away

We've worked so hard
Pushed every day now
See the blood sweat and tears on our face
We've never been stronger
There's no holding back now
So you can hear us say

Stand up, stand up we were right
You know we can't be more justified
And they can't deny it
Stand up, stand up we were right
We've come to far just to fade away
And they can't deny it

We never said it was easy
And no one gave us a thing
Now that last part is so pleasing
We're stronger than you think

Stand up, stand up we were right
You know we can't be more justified
And they can't deny it
Stand up, stand up we were right
We've come to far just to fade away
And they can't deny it

Stand up, stand up we were right

(They can't deny it)
Stand up, stand up we were right

Personally, I think this is one of their best songs they have ever written. Reminds me of basic training.

11 years later, how do you (or others reading this) think Stand Up stands up?

@BernieGolgo13

Mad vocals!!!!! I have to salute him for his sound and music. Since I'm retired military, this song totally explains the struggles every single military member goes through.

@devonb1107

The singer has a large respect for the military, he left his original band Shadows Fall to join the Marines. Is why a lot of his songs are about strength and honor. The 'War You Cannot Win' album was a tribute to the soldiers.

@brunopragosa9308

He is a man of honor :)

@Somawesomestuff

Devon B How do you know that? Just curious.

@BigHeadBrandon2k11

that and he doesnt come off as a huge tool like ivan moody from five finger

@josephbradin7075

i did not know this was the singer of shadows fall, i thought i recognized his voice

@rmpunk99

I don't know if it was Shadows Fall that he left. I know it was one band that he left to join the military but he left Shadows Fall because they asked him to because Brian became available and they really wanted him as a frontman.
