On August 4, 2009 "The Things We've Grown to Love" was released on Linc Star Records (Warner Brothers), and paved a small stepping stone for the band. With their first full length under their belt, Rolling Stone named them 1 of 6 bands to keep a close eye on. The album received a majority of good reviews, and pushed All the Day Holiday into the busy commotion of bands needed to see.
One week before Christmas 2009, All the Day Holiday released a cover of "Christmas Time is Here" which shown light on the growth the band has made since the release of their first full length record. With a step in the direction of soul, shoegaze, and rock and roll at the roots, this is a band worth a corner on your iPod.
All the Day Holiday is Daniel Simmons (guitar and vocals), Mark Ventura (drums and percussion), David Roller (bass and keys), and Nathan Frisch (guitar)

Atmosphere
All The Day Holiday Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Everything we had dreamed of being.
Maybe we thought too fast for ourselves.
Maybe it wasn't what it seemed.
To feel that again, Questions don't need answers.
To feel that again, Answers have no meaning.
To feel that again, Meaning can't explain it.
Just then, when I thought
I was making sense.
Just then, when you showed me it takes
more than bread to live.
Comfort, it set in,
I'll give you credit for this win.
And all of them.
There's one reason we don't accept.
Most haven't seen it yet.
Abiding, residing,
open up your eyes,
open up your minds.
The song "Atmosphere" by All The Day Holiday is a reflective piece of music that revolves around the concept of reminiscing over past experiences, and trying to recapture that elusive feeling of contentment and happiness that often seems to slip away from us. The singer of the song is remembering a time when everything seemed perfect, and they had everything they could possibly want or need. However, as the chorus suggests, perhaps they were moving too quickly, and things weren't what they seemed. Despite this, the singer longs to feel that way again, even if it means not finding any answers or meanings to their questions.
The second verse of the song shifts focus to someone else who influenced the singer in some way. They try to make sense of their life and figure out what they should be striving for, but it's only when this other person shows them the importance of comfort and human connection that they realize what they've been missing. The singer is grateful to this person for helping them find contentment and wishes that everyone could see the same thing. The final line of the song implores the listener to open up their eyes and minds to new experiences and possibilities.
Overall, the song is a bittersweet reflection on the fleeting nature of happiness, the importance of human connection, and the never-ending quest for contentment and meaning in life.
