Missing you
All Time Low Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I heard that you've been
Self-medicating in the quiet of your room,
Your sweet, suburban tomb.
And if you need a friend,
I'll help you stitch up your wounds.

I heard that you've been
Having some trouble finding your place in the world.
I know how much that hurts,
But if you need a friend
Then please just say the word

You've come this far,
You're all cleaned up,
You've made a mess again,
There's no more trying,
Time to sort yourself out

Hold on tight,
This ride is a wild one,
Make no mistake,
The day will come when you can't cover up what you've done,
Now don't lose your fight, kid,
It only takes a little push to pull on through,
With so much left to do,
You'll be missing out, and we'll be missing you.

I heard that you've been
Having some trouble finding your place in the world.
I know how much that hurts,
And if you need a friend
Then please just say the word

You've come this far,
You're all cleaned up,
You've made a mess again,
There's no more trying,
Time to sort yourself out

Hold on tight,
This ride is a wild one,
Make no mistake,
The day will come when you can't cover up what you've done,
Now don't lose your fight, kid,
It only takes a little push to pull on through,
With so much left to do,
You'll be missing out, and we'll be missing you.

Grit your teeth, pull your hair,
Paint the walls black and scream, "Fuck the world
'Cause it's my life, I'm gonna take it back,"
And never for a second blame yourself.

Hold on tight,
This ride is a wild one,
Make no mistake,
The day will come when you can't cover up what you've done,
(No, you can't cover up)
(One, two, three, four!)

Hold on tight,
This ride is a wild one (This ride is a wild one),
Make no mistake,
The day will come when you can't cover up what you've done,
Now don't lose your fight, kid (Don't lose your fight, kid),
It only takes a little push to pull on through (push to pull on through),

With so much left to do
You'll be missing out, and we'll be missing you

Probably one of the only two songs I have ever ugly cried to. Not just because of the meaning, but also because it reminded me of the first time I heard this song, when I was 9, not knowing it would be so dear to me.

I figured no one really cares so I'll just post my rant here.
'I heard that you've been self-medicating in the quiet of your room, your sweet suburban tomb, and if you need a friend, I'll help you stitch up your wounds.
I heard that you've been having some trouble finding your place in the world, I know how much that hurts. And if you need a friend, then please just say the word.'

It's so hard to find a balance. I always acted as a snowflake and got bashed hard for it. Sure. Nothing wrong. But then I just started trying to keep quiet all the time. I don't dare to ask anyone for help anymore because I fear I bother or waste their time, even if they want me to tell them. I just feel so far from everyone now. Even people I talk to regularly feel out of reach. And no one has ever cared for me, except for one person who asked me to tell her my problems. Yet I can't bring myself to. It's so hard to just ask for help.

I don't have a single fucking support group, and as someone who is naturally very attention craving, it's so hard to just fit in and find 'my place' with people who care about me, even if there were such people.

and I'm also a fucking coward. the line 'that will come when you can't cover up what you've done' is so true, and I fear that day, so I just revealed all of my lies on my own accord for fear of my ego, and only for that reason. And it just makes me feel horrible how much I value my ego over some things.

I'm so fucking fearful of people's opinion of me, and it has crippled me. It's my fault for digging whatever hole I have fallen into, given I was always well aware.

I've been living abroad for 2 years. away from home, new people, new culture!. I can't count how many times I cried and was sad. I also had experience of racism in my previous workplace. so sad that they treat you differently just because you are different!. But this song made me realize that I shouldn't be sad just because of a bad situation. This song really relates to me! Yes indeed!

I heard that you've been,
self-medicating in the quiet of your room,
your sweet, suburban tomb,
but if you need a friend,
I'll help you stitch up your wounds,

I heard that you've been,
having some trouble finding your place in the world,
I know how much that hurts,
and if you need a friend,
then please just say the word…

You've come this far,
you're all cleaned up,
you made a mess again,
there's no more trying,
time to sort yourself out….

Hold on tight,
this ride is a wild one,
make no mistake,
the day will come when you can't cover up what you've done,
Now don't lose your fight, kid,
it only takes a little push to pull on through,
With so much left to do;
You'll be missing out, and we'll be missing you,
