Bring It On
All Together Separate Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You have twisted everything now I'm here to get it straight
I can see right through your lies because I am the truth so bring it on
And you've got your part to play but so have I so let's get it on
Bring it on
Cause you've been given everything you need
And there's no way to take this bitter cup from me
So bring it on
I am the one, so bring it on
The time to escape has passed and I roam for eternity
Someday it was all going to boil down just you and me
Ever since the flood they've all been trying to make it right
So prepare the altar cause it's time for a sacrifice
In "Bring It On," All Together Separate addresses an adversary or enemy, daring them to bring it on. The song is about standing up for what is right in the face of adversity, opposition, or evil. The lyrics suggest that the antagonist has already twisted and manipulated things, but All Together Separate is ready to confront them and bring clarity and truth to the situation. He knows their lies, but he has the truth, and he is willing to fight for it regardless of the cost, even if it means sacrificing his life. In verse three, the lyrics reference the story of Noah's Ark and the subsequent post-flood period where people have tried to make amends with God for their actions. It suggests that they have not been successful and that there is still a need for atonement, sacrifice, and redemption.
The song's power comes mainly from its sense of urgency and the theme of standing up for what is right. All Together Separate expresses in the song that there is no turning back for him, and he is ready to confront anything that opposes him. The song's message is that, regardless of the obstacle or opposition, one should stay true to their beliefs and be willing to fight for them, no matter the cost.
