Who Can You Trust
Allen-Lande Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Oh, yeah, woah, who can you trust? Trust!
Eyes on the back of your hair
Always awake and aware
Watching the movements around us
Building a fortress of stone
Nobody will ever get close to us
[Bridge:]
Always watching
Be on your guard
[Chorus:]
Who can you trust
Who is your enemy
Are you ever going to see
Who is with our against you
How can you tell
Who's gonna let you down
Ever be safe and sound
Surrounded by strangers
Who can you trust?
Who can you trust? No one!
Oh yeah
Looking for shelter one more night
Hide from the unknown
Don't feel safe, wherever you are
You cannot recognise a friend from foe
Oh no, oh no
Another awake, a night of fear
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
Who can you trust?
[Solo]
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
Trust!
The song "Who Can You Trust" by Allen-Lande is about the feeling of uncertainty and distrust towards the people around us. The lyrics express a strong sense of paranoia, as the singers constantly feel like they are being watched and need to be alert at all times. They have to build a fortress to protect themselves from evil, and they still live in fear of unknown strangers. The chorus repeats the central question of the song, urging the listeners to question who they can truly trust in their lives. The solo in the song adds an extra layer of intensity, reflecting the chaotic emotions that the singers feel.
Overall, the song is a reflection of the human experience of distrust and uncertainty. It portrays the reality that we can never be too sure about the intentions of those around us, and how that fear can often lead to the need to protect ourselves. The title and the repetition of the words "who can you trust" emphasize the importance of critically evaluating the motives of those around us and the impact that distrust can have on our relationships.
