Stone was born in Chewelah, Washington, a small town about 45 minutes north of Spokane with a population of approximately 1,500 people. When Allen was 18, he moved from his home town to Spokane, Washington, where he attended community college for a semester followed by Bible School. Not long after, he moved to Seattle, Washington.
He has self-released two records, "Last To Speak" (2010) and the self-title sophomore release "Allen Stone" (2011).
On his self-titled sophomore album - an independent self-release which hit digital shelves October 4, Allen has pushed his sound and lyricism to a greater level of noted individuality. It touches upon a range of styles and themes. Integrating classic soul, catchy pop hooks, r&b beats and folk roots with lyrical matters of testimonial broken relationships, poisonous politics and the age-old topic of simple, pure celebration. Stone's music is notable for his finely crafted evocative songs and a fresh, smooth, soul-filled voice-one that certainly belies his age.
Allen Stone has shot up the R&B/Soul charts on iTunes, peaking at the number 2 spot, and hit #29 and #62 on the Billboard Heatseekers and R&B/Hip Hop Album charts, respectively, and has garnered national praise - USA Today called him a "pitch-perfect powerhouse" - all without any support of a label, publisher, or publicist.
Stone's soulful sound has been compared to Stevie Wonder and Prince.
Figure It Out

Then I could give you all that love that you pursue,
But I, I,
Well, I am just a man,
And I just can't pretend,
That the essence of your being is easy to understand,
But I, I,
Well, I, I, I,
Well, baby, 'cause I know this is complicated,
But I won't let this love get wasted,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out,
And I know that we both need healing,
But I won't forget all my feelings,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out,
I assure you you're the one,
I just can't control my tongue,
And I say things I would have never said, no,
When our love was young,
But I, I,
Let's get back to the basics,
Let's rebuke all the critics,
Let's get back to the foundation,
Let's revisit our classics,
Oh, well, I, I,
Well, I, I, I,
Well, baby, 'cause I know this is complicated,
But I won't let this love get wasted,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out,
And I know that we both need healing,
But I won't forget all my feelings,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out,
We can figure,
We can figure it out,
No, no, no,
No, no, no,
Baby, 'cause I know this is complicated,
But I won't let this love get wasted,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out,
And I know that we both need healing,
But I won't forget all my feelings,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out,
And I know this is complicated,
But I won't let this love get wasted,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out,
And I know that we both need healing,
But I won't forget all my feelings,
We can figure it out,
We can figure it out.
In "Figure It Out," Allen Stone sings about the complexities of love and relationships. He expresses a desire to truly understand his partner and give them the love they deserve, but acknowledges that it's not an easy feat. Despite the difficulties they face, Stone remains devoted to the relationship and believes that they can work things out.
The song begins with Stone expressing his longing to see deep into his partner's soul and understand what makes them who they are. He recognizes that this would allow him to love them better and meet their needs more fully. However, he also acknowledges his limitations as a mere mortal and the fact that understanding the essence of another person is a difficult task.
As the song progresses, Stone seeks to reconnect with his partner by getting back to the basics of their relationship. He wants to push past any outside criticisms or pressures and focus on the core of their bond. He admits to saying things he regrets and causing harm in the past, but remains hopeful that they can move past it and heal together.
Overall, "Figure It Out" is a song about the complexities of love and the difficulties we face in truly understanding and connecting with another person. Despite these challenges, Allen Stone remains optimistic and committed to working through them with his partner.

One of coldest cats out in music industry. Love what he's doing and how he does it. Nuff said!
@williammanser
Allen epitomizes what a student of the last 50 years of American great music can offer. He is one of it's best at a time where the droll simplicity of samples and unimaginative structures allow us to forget what indeed made American music great. May his homage to the last 50 years bring his celebration one day.
