Starting on Guitar
Originally he wanted to be a bass player because as Weber puts it "I saw the Beatles on their first Ed Sullivan appearance. There were two guitarists and one bass player. So I wanted to be a bass player because there was only one of them."
It took quite a few years before he got the opportunity. At age 15 he finally got his opportunity to learn bass. However, his teacher John Riemer an amazing jazz guitarist told Weber that Weber had to study guitar for six months before John would teach him bass.
When the six month guitar trial period was over, Weber had fallen in love with guitar and did not want to switch.
Jazz Background
Weber always had a love of jazz. His parents taking him to see Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Sarah Vaugh, Ella Fitzgerald, Ramsey Lewis, and other notable musicians when they were performing in Chicago. Weber's taste in jazz became very eclectic running from Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Les Paul, Dave Liebman, eventually to John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Weather Report, Urzula Dudziak, Michal Urbaniak and others.
While still in High School some of his friends introduced him to music from John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, The New Tony Williams Lifetime with Allan Holdsworth. On his own he found Chick Corea and return to Forever; Weather Report, and others. And that began his interest and love of jazz fusion, jazz rock, hard fusion.
Performing
While in Chicago he joined several touring bands playing funk touring primarily throughout the Midwest USA, and Asia.
In 1980 Weber moved to Los Angeles, performed in a few bands, did some recording. He also put together his first jazz fusion band. In the late 1980's moved to New York City where he continued playing guitar.
Present Day
Eventually, he landed in Jacksonville Florida. The epi-center of Southern Rock. Here Weber formed his Hot Shock band using "hired guns" and started performing in area.
Getting very good responses from audiences for the material Weber composed, he decided to record it and make an album.
The album was recorded at the storied Jacksonville Fl recording studio Warehouse Studios. And mixed and mastered at TrueTone Studios in Jacksonville Fl.
The first album Hot Shock was released November 2013
