Disease
Alli Fitz Lyrics

Don't get this crooked
This ain't like old times
No hook line, don't push it
You got no stronghold on me, oh
Look in my eyes
And watch 'em roll
You got this notion
That my heart's open
I would say good try
But goodbye you joking
You gave me this stitch in my side
I'm rolling, laughing till I cry
Send electric jolts and joules
Douse with gas the coals that cooled
Conjure a spell with the power to rule
There's nothing strong enough to make me your fool
I'm sick of these
Stupid memories
Clouding up my head
I'm dead
Would you let me breathe
Oh-oh
I came to dance
Don't mean to wreck your plans
You were my symptom
Now I've cured this disease
I'm sick of these
Twisted fantasies
You think I'll forget I left
I wanted to leave
Oh-oh
Yeah this club bangs
Don't make me show my fangs
You were my symptom
Now I've cured this disease
Boy you're lame
What a shame
She probably already forgot your name
Rejected once again
Now you're running to her friend
Will it ever end
From girl to girl up in this place
Just treating love like it's a race
He thinks he'll finish first
But babe expect the worst
I hope you know that you're the biggest joke
We knew it before you spoke
I'm sick of these
Stupid memories
Clouding up my head
I'm dead
Would you let me breathe
Oh-oh
I came to dance
Don't mean to wreck your plans
You were my symptom
Now I've cured this disease
I'm sick of these
Twisted fantasies
You think I'll forget I left
I wanted to leave
Oh-oh
Yeah this club bangs
Don't make me show my fangs
You were my symptom
Now I've cured this disease
We've arrived, hyper drive
Crank the gears and let 'em fly
Listen, quit wishing
You can't get in with admission
At one till three
That's the last you'll see of me
Don't it feel good? Don't it feel good?
We've arrived, hyper drive
Crank the gears and let em fly
Listen, quit wishing
You can't get in with admission
At one till three
That's the last you'll see of me
Don't it feel good? Don't it feel good? (Hey-ey)
I'm sick of these
Stupid memories
Clouding up my head
I'm dead
Would you let me breathe
Oh-oh
I came to dance
Don't mean to wreck your plans
You were my symptom
Now I've cured this disease
I'm sick of these
Twisted fantasies
You think I'll forget i left?
I wanted to leave
Oh-oh
Yeah this club bangs
Don't make me show my fangs
You were my symptom
Now I've cured this disease
In "Disease," Alli Fitz sings about moving on from a toxic relationship. She starts with asserting her independence by acknowledging that she saw her ex looking at her, but she is not interested in going back to old times. She then goes on to say that her ex-partner has no hold over her anymore and she’s not falling for their tricks again. She describes her ex’s attempts to get her back as a failed joke. Fitz then sings about how her ex-partner gave her a stitch in her side before moving on to address her own feelings. She feels tired of the memories that are clouding her head and obstructing her moving on with her life. Later in the song, she declares that she has healed from the disease that the relationship represented to her.
The chorus reflects Fitz’s journey of moving on from the toxic relationship. She sings about being done with the stupid memories and twisted fantasies she once had with her ex-partner. She wants to dance and have fun, without letting her ex-partner’s memory dictate her present. She’s ready to move on, and her ex can’t hold her back anymore. Fitz’s lyrics metaphorically describe feeling sick and having a disease that was caused by the relationship. Now that she’s cured, she doesn’t want to look back, and she has no interest in letting her ex-partner have any control over her life.
