The band managed to score four Top 20 singles in their two year career. The first was the theme tune to STARStreet*. "Best Friends", which peaked at Number 20 in June 2001, was a favourite on the pop video channels. The second was a double-a-side of their own track, "Things That Go Bump In The Night", and a cover of Duran Duran's "Is There Something I Should Know?", the former track later appearing on the soundtrack to the first Scooby Doo movie. It reached Number 12 in September 2001.
Their third single, released in January 2002, was another cover, this time of Bucks Fizz's "Land Of Make Believe", and it gave them their first and only top 10 hit, reaching Number 9. Their fourth single, released in late April 2002, was another double-a-side, but this time both were original tracks. "Back When" and "Going All The Way", the latter appearing on the soundtrack to the movie Thunderpants. However, this could only reach Number 19 in the end, and when their self titled debut only managed to reach Number 43 - spending only 2 weeks in the UK Top 75 - the band parted ways with their record company, Island, and split up soon after.
Happy Ever After Endings
Allstars Lyrics

I only wanted to dream
Happy ever after endings
I only wanted to dream
Its 12'0' clock and I am solo
The DJ plays my favourite song
My lonely tears the melody cheers
Make a brand new start
(Chorus)
I feel the music come alive in me
Heart and mind in symphony explode
I only wanted to dream A dream
Happy ever after endings
Raining down on me
A thousand happy ever after endings
When the music lives in me
When I'm in need of inspiration
I play my song and sing-a-long
Through every year
The jukebox is here
Travelling through time
(Chorus)
I feel the music come alive in me
Heart and mind in symphony explode
I only wanted to dream A dream
Happy ever after endings
Raining down on me
A thousand happy ever after endings
When the music lives in me
Music is the place we meet
Soul or country move your feet
From New York city to London town
Music and friends go hand in hand
Let the music make your life a stage
Act your shoe size not your age
Wish upon your favourite song
Your can sing-a-long
(Chorus)
I feel the music come alive in me
Heart and mind in symphony explode
I only wanted to dream A dream
Happy ever after endings
Raining down on me
A thousand happy ever after endings
When the music live in me
The lyrics to Allstars' "Happy Ever After Endings" express a desire for a happy and fulfilling life that feels like a dream come true. The song begins with the repetition of the titular phrase "happy ever after endings," which sets the tone for the rest of the track. The singer longs for a life full of this kind of happiness and contentment, and wonders if it's possible to achieve.
The first verse describes a lonely moment at midnight, when the singer is alone and listening to their favorite song. The music cheers them up and fills them with a sense of hope, encouraging them to "make a brand new start." In the chorus, the singer describes the feeling of the music coming alive in them, as their heart and mind become one with the melody. They only wanted to dream a dream, but the happy ever after endings that rain down on them feel real and attainable.
The second verse reinforces the idea that music is a powerful force that can inspire and lift us up. The singer turns to their favorite song for inspiration and finds comfort in the jukebox, which has been there for them through every year. The final verse celebrates the universal appeal of music, which can bring people together across borders and differences. The line "let the music make your life a stage" encourages listeners to embrace their inner performer and share their love of music with others.
Overall, "Happy Ever After Endings" is an uplifting and hopeful song that celebrates the power of music to make our dreams come true.
