More Better
AllttA Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ain′t given a moment to relax
If given a moment I relapse
Ain't gotta problem with hollering shalom when Solomon′s
All in the bottom of three texts
Gotta know how to follow the pretext
All on Apollo no Greek text
Got 'em throwing they bodies right off of the bridge
With the kids yelling momma now me next
Gonna build a tower
Now they gonna make us climb it
They gonna bill us for ever dull minute of blindness
Stating our ills are behind us
I'm from the States where we fill up with violence
I got a tank I′ma spill in your climate
We all afraid to evolve when our faith is involved
′Cause we'd hate to believe we we′re primates

But we still beating our chest daily
Got that freedom to go beat a man to death on TV
Got that eagle in the sky, 'cause the desert never lies
But it′s eye is too evil for the breast I see

Gotta hand on Janet's damn it gonna make ′em panic
And it's in a state where they incarcerate at a rate
You could state as manic
Now they share a border a culture and language
But still can't relate to Hispanics
Now I ain′t talking ′bout all of 'em no sir and thank you
I say to a hate you can′t manage
Now I can escape with my manners
But I can't escape what a man is
We made him an animal, showed him a cannon ball
You ain′t escaping the manor
Now could you relate to the Tanner's?
Or could they have made them more tanner?
If you could relate then I′m sorry
I know that you're probably hating my grammar

Generations, you still Caitlyn Jenner hatin'
You still painting saints against the walls
Through men enslaved had made them
You design it can′t define it why you blind without a light lit
You reliant on a science you can′t wait to blame on Satan

You put your hand up on the Bible
Then they put the Bible on us
Like a tyrant upon us, or a tyrannosaurus
Then they say it walked with man and how their science supports it
But it's still the same old hand
That′s made to lie and face the chorus
Hide the wine replace the cork 'cause
They say ain′t no time made for us
Why would I go raise a sword when I could write a mighty fortress?
And go ride into the story with a cape I made from wool
To fight that Tiger in the forest or should I say the Woods
You shine a light on who he's banging, yes, the truth is in the goods
Tried to get Nike for the hanging, yes, like shoes in Inglewood
They said winning takes care of
Everything and it′s true and understood
'Cause they let it fall in Bangladesh the roof was made of wood

See how I used those three woods in a fairway?
(See how I used those three woods in a fairway?)
Thought I hit it good but I couldn't get no airplay
(Thought I hit it good but I couldn′t get no airplay)
Lost my best balls tryna focus on the green
(Lost my best balls tryna focus on the green)
Couldn′t see I was headed toward a damn rake
(Couldn't see I was headed toward a damn rake)

Little humor, little better
Got a man so quick and clever
Gotta do stand up to get a hand up
Making a brand of this guilty pleasure
Gotta get a car alarm for my Lambo
Gotta get rid of this filthy sweater
I need all the awards you can hand over
Marlon Brando and Littlefeather
Now look back at that award show, no grin, fast pace
To when that crook Mack took four of those
All wins and a happy face
Got a shook after they forced the vote
To put that pimp back in that last place
And he stood there acting like it′s yours yo
But the shit's still sittin′ in his glass case

Now who am I to judge? I ain't a humble man
I ain′t a beast neither, more like a gun in hand

Call it a peace keeper, I ain't tryna snub a man
'Cause six shots ain′t enough mother fucker

Overall Meaning

The song "More Better" by AllttA addresses several social issues while showcasing the remarkable lyrical and rhyme capabilities of both the artists. The lyrics talk about how the society is constructed in such a way that there is no space for relaxation, leading to people relapsing frequently. The artists also talk about conflicts and wars, the division between the rich and the poor, racism, police brutality, issues of faith and evolution, and the power of social and mainstream media.

The artists talk about how we are made to follow pretexts in Apollo's world, where the weak bodies fall off the bridge while the young watch and know they are next. In this dark and dangerous world, people have fears in evolving because of their faith, and it is difficult for people to believe that they are primates.

Furthermore, the lyrics speak of the aftermath of slavery and how the culture and language of Hispanic people are still not given equal importance. The song talks about the violence that still prevails even after generations; how people's hands are upon the Bible, and the Bible is upon them, where science is still blamed on Satan. The song concludes that everyone is trying to win and lead, but the world is still on the verge of collapsing.

We're prideful, even though we have the freedom to display violence on TV. The symbol of America (eagle) is a reminder of the lies that come with war.

Gotta hand on Janet's damn it gonna make ′em panic And it's in a state where they incarcerate at a rate You could state as manic
People are quick to panic and take extreme measures, even in cases of minor issues that lead to over-incarceration.

Now they share a border a culture and language But still can't relate to Hispanics Now I ain′t talking ′bout all of 'em no sir and thank you I say to a hate you can′t manage
People share the same language and culture, but still can't connect with Hispanics. Hating them (or any group of people) is not the solution.

Now I can escape with my manners But I can't escape what a man is
I can use good manners, but that doesn't change the fact that people are inherently flawed

We made him an animal, showed him a cannon ball You ain′t escaping the manor
Humans have always been capable of violence, and it's impossible to escape that fact.

Now could you relate to the Tanner's? Or could they have made them more tanner? If you could relate then I′m sorry I know that you're probably hating my grammar
Can you relate to these characters in a story? Did the creators create them accurately? Sorry if my grammar isn't perfect.

Generations, you still Caitlyn Jenner hatin' You still painting saints against the walls Through men enslaved had made them You design it can′t define it why you blind without a light lit You reliant on a science you can′t wait to blame on Satan
We're still stuck in old ways of thinking (like hate towards Caitlyn Jenner), and we ignore the truth (like the fact that many saints were made through slavery). We desire knowledge, but are quick to blame external factors for our ignorance.

You put your hand up on the Bible Then they put the Bible on us Like a tyrant upon us, or a tyrannosaurus Then they say it walked with man and how their science supports it But it's still the same old hand That′s made to lie and face the chorus
People use religion as a way to control others and force them to follow certain beliefs. The idea that the Bible walked with man is not rooted in scientific fact, but people still cling to these beliefs.

Hide the wine replace the cork 'cause They say ain′t no time made for us Why would I go raise a sword when I could write a mighty fortress? And go ride into the story with a cape I made from wool To fight that Tiger in the forest or should I say the Woods
People say there's no time for us, but why should we resort to violence when we can focus on creating something meaningful? We can still be heroic (like fighting a tiger in the forest), but it doesn't have to involve violence.

You shine a light on who he's banging, yes, the truth is in the goods Tried to get Nike for the hanging, yes, like shoes in Inglewood They said winning takes care of Everything and it′s true and understood 'Cause they let it fall in Bangladesh the roof was made of wood
We focus on scandals (like who someone is sleeping with) instead of the true issues at hand. We also ignore the negative consequences of our actions (like the unsafe working conditions in Bangladesh). People think winning is everything, but it often comes at a cost.

See how I used those three woods in a fairway? (See how I used those three woods in a fairway?) Thought I hit it good but I couldn't get no airplay (Thought I hit it good but I couldn′t get no airplay) Lost my best balls tryna focus on the green (Lost my best balls tryna focus on the green) Couldn′t see I was headed toward a damn rake (Couldn't see I was headed toward a damn rake)
I tried to be clever with my words, but it didn't get any recognition. I lost sight of the bigger picture (the green) and didn't see the obstacles in my way.

Little humor, little better Got a man so quick and clever Gotta do stand up to get a hand up Making a brand of this guilty pleasure
Humor can make things better. You have to be quick and clever to make it in the entertainment industry. Using comedy can improve someone's situation (like getting a job).

Gotta get a car alarm for my Lambo Gotta get rid of this filthy sweater I need all the awards you can hand over Marlon Brando and Littlefeather
I need to show off my wealth and success (with a car alarm for my Lamborghini), shed the image of poverty (with a new sweater), and win as many awards as possible (like Marlon Brando and Sacheen Littlefeather did at the Oscars).

Now look back at that award show, no grin, fast pace To when that crook Mack took four of those All wins and a happy face Got a shook after they forced the vote To put that pimp back in that last place And he stood there acting like it′s yours yo But the shit's still sittin′ in his glass case
Looking back at award shows (like the Grammys), it's frustrating to see certain people (like Macklemore) win multiple times over more deserving artists. Even after they are called out on it, they pretend like it's not a big deal and act like they deserved the win.

Now who am I to judge? I ain't a humble man I ain′t a beast neither, more like a gun in hand Call it a peace keeper, I ain't tryna snub a man 'Cause six shots ain′t enough mother fucker
I don't have the right to judge others, but I'm also not a pushover. I'm more like a weapon (a gun) that can promote peace by defending what's right. And sometimes, verbal arguments aren't enough to stop someone (hence the reference to six shots).

I love how Mr J. Medeiros' raps actually mean something when you listen to the words - if I'm not mistaken this one's about modern society and the focus on celebrity over integrity?

Arduino Guy Projects and More!

@Eric Or on a deeper level, our culture's inability to change and accept reality. We instead try to cling to blaming things like"Satan" for certain things happening while we have the power to change them and improve them with the science we rely on. This leads to a culture that is "backwards" and unwilling to improve, such as violence being allowed and praised everywhere yet religious folks don't want partial nudity on TV to maintain their piousness while secretly doing everything they claim to hate.

han

@Eric what, you expecting him to trash the good parts of america?
