Helios
Alpine Universe Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Confused by my place in the universe
I beg for a taste of what′s to come
Will I see the light when all is said and done?
When all is said an done
Will I return or will I be gone, tell me
Now closer to the sun, the light is blinding
Burn me to the sky, Helios
Now burn me to the sky
Burn me to the sky, Helios
Burn me to the sky, Helios
The grown ups taught me to watch and learn
My question remained unanswered
Can't you tell this is knowledge I yearn
I've had a taste and the worst is yet to come
When all is said an done
Will I return or will I be gone, tell me
Now closer to the sun, the light is blinding
I feel it burn
Burn me to the sky, Helios
Now burn me to the sky
Burn me to the sky, Helios
Burn me to the sky, Helios
Alpine Universe's song Helios dives into a contemplative state of mind. The singer is unsure of his place in the universe and feels confused. He is covered in dirt, which seems to symbolize his imperfect and uncertain state. He is begging for a glimpse of what's to come, which suggests that he is anxious about the future and is looking for reassurance. He wonders if he will see the light, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for enlightenment or could be taken literally as the light of the sun.
As the song progresses, the singer becomes more introspective. He reflects on the lessons he learned from adults and is frustrated that they have not answered his questions. He continues to yearn for knowledge, even though he acknowledges that he has had a taste of it and that the worst is yet to come. The more he delves into his thoughts, the closer he gets to the sun. This journey toward the sun brings him closer to the light, which he describes as blinding and burning.
One interpretation of this song is that the singer is on a spiritual quest. He is searching for answers and is willing to endure the pain and uncertainty that comes with enlightenment. He wants to be burned by Helios, which is the Greek god of the sun. This could be a metaphor for being purified by the light or for being transformed through the pain of growth.

I got obsessed with this song lately: I play TTRPG and my character is a pyromancer from the iced lands. There's plenty of songs that talk about Setting things on fire and burning, but this one has something different, like in a more sacred, victorious way.
In few words, it really fits a lot how I want to portray my character.
Hopefully one day we get an acoustic version, I love them

Spotify recommended it for me, and I got really hooked on it after listening to it for a few times. Surprised it has so little views, really. Keep up the work, I hope everything goes well! A really good song, especially the chorus ^^
