In January 2008, the band decided to part ways with their record label Metal Heaven for undisclosed reasons. They are currently searching for a new record deal. Songs for a new album have been written which had originally been planned for release in late 2007; as soon a new contract with a record company is signed, work on the planned release will continue.
In the same month, bass player Marko Pukkila parted ways with the band after a disagreement concerning the split with Metal Heaven. His replacement is Ex-Terrowheel bass player and current Alteria vocalist Marco Lupenero. This means that the only original member still active with Altaria is Tony Smedjebacka.
Altaria have toured with the likes of Nightwish and Sonata Arctica.

Are you friend or enemy
Leave me alone
Nothing's ever what is seems
Leave me alone, enemy
I knew right from the start
That I would not be free
But I just had to try
And spread my wings again
Recalling kings of times gone by
Can you see the flame has died
Do you ever wander why
Take a hard look at me now
Leave me alone
Reflections of a stormy sea
Leave me alone
Affection slowly sets me free
Leave me alone, enemy
Remember yesterday, when skies were always blue
And no mountain was to high
Day by day i am, returning with desire
Recalling gods of times gone by
Can you see the flame has died
Do you ever wander why
Take a hard look at me now
Leave me alone
Reflections of stormy sea
Leave me alone
Affection slowly sets me free
Leave me alone
Are you friend or enemy
Leave me alone
Nothing's ever what is seems
Leave me alone, enemy
[solo]
Leave me alone
Reflections of stormy sea
Leave me alone
Affection slowly sets me free
Leave me alone
Are you friend or enemy
Leave me alone
Nothing's ever what is seems
Leave me alone, enemy
"Enemy" by Altaria is a song about a person's struggle in finding their true identity despite the influence and opinions of others. The lyrics, "Leave me alone, are you friend or enemy, nothing's ever what it seems," depict the confusion and frustration that arise from being unable to distinguish true friends from foes. The singer feels trapped by society's expectations and attempts to break free by recalling the great leaders and heroes of the past. The flame of their passion and ambition has died, and they are haunted by the question of why this has happened. In the end, affection becomes their salvation, slowly setting them free from the enemy's grasp.
The stormy sea referred to in the lyrics symbolizes the character's inner turmoil and emotional instability. The blue skies and high mountains of the past represent the character's aspirations and the feeling of being able to conquer anything. However, returning to one's former self is not as simple as flipping a switch, and it takes time and effort to rediscover oneself. The solo in the song serves as an instrument by which the singer expresses their emotions, unleashing a cathartic release that is both powerful and profound.
