After signing with Wind-up Records, Alter Bridge released their debut album One Day Remains in August 2004, much of which was written by Tremonti the previous year. The album reached No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and, received mixed reviews, and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in November 2004. This was followed in 2007 by the more positively-reviewed Blackbird, which marked the beginning of a long partnership between the band and producer Michael Baskette. The album reached No. 13 in the U.S. and was certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry.
Following continued activities with the members' other bands and side projects, Alter Bridge released AB III in 2010. It received critical acclaim and commercial success on Roadrunner Records, with its lead single "Isolation" topping the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Alter Bridge released Fortress to further acclaim in 2013, as the band's members continued splitting their time between various projects. The Last Hero followed on Napalm Records in 2016, becoming the band's first album since its debut to reach the top ten of the Billboard 200, and its first to reach the top five of the UK Albums Chart. Their sixth studio album, Walk the Sky, was released in 2019, and was followed by Walk the Sky 2.0 in 2020. The band's seventh album Pawns & Kings was released on October 14, 2022.
As of 2023 Alter Bridge has sold over 5 million records worldwide.

Come To Life
Alter Bridge Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
tore away the veil of weakness
The enemy now lies beneath us
I think we're safe
Hey
Won't be held down any longer
No disgrace and no dishonor
[Chorus:]
There's nothing we should have to fear
It's alright
We've come to life
We'll never shed another tear
It's alright
We've come to life
Hey
the bulletproof are so resilient
To every fool with an opinion
They never break
By the way
We scream to find a reason
Never doubt or stop believing
And escape
[Chorus]
Now wicked tongues can speak
And rewrite history
But you can't keep the truth contained
And like this song was sung
Just realize we're one
And don't forget we're here to stay
[Chorus]
The Alter Bridge song "Come To Life" is a powerful ode to overcoming obstacles and emerging victorious. The opening lines set the tone for the song, with the singer boasting that he has cast aside weakness and overcome his enemies. He proclaims that he is safe and no longer held down by anything. The chorus highlights the singer's confidence and resilience, assuring listeners that there is nothing to fear because they have come to life and will never shed another tear.
The song's second verse pays homage to those who are bulletproof, who can withstand even the harshest criticism and opinions. The singer points out that those who never doubt or stop believing in themselves are the ones who ultimately succeed. The final lines of the song brilliantly shift the focus from the individual to the collective, acknowledging that although some may try to rewrite history, the truth can never be silenced. The singer urges listeners to remember that we are all connected and bonded, and that this connection is what gives us strength.
Overall, "Come To Life" is a powerful anthem for anyone who has ever faced adversity and come out on top. Its uplifting lyrics and hard-hitting instrumentals make it a standout track in Alter Bridge's discography.
