The lyrics of the song Gnidjougouya by Amadou & Mariam are in the Malian language Bambara, which makes it challenging to interpret them accurately. However, the song seems to describe the beauty and power of nature or an important event in the life cycle of a village, tribe, or society. The title of the song, Gnidjougouya, could be a reference to a specific place or thing that has significant meaning to the people.
The repetitive use of phrases like "Gnidjougouya angana" and "Gnidjougouya ké gnogonna" emphasizes the importance and impact of this thing or place. The song also mentions "mogossi kana" and "mogola," which could mean "big fire" or "big ceremony." The line "Ayé sabali mogossi kana" means "be patient, big ceremony." The song's overall tone is celebratory, with joyful vocals and upbeat instrumentation.
