Amadou & Mariam Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The above lyrics are from the song "Ilbiwan" by Amadou & Mariam. This line translates to "The Moors are unique beings in their kind. They are different from others because they are men of trust, men of honor. I swear the Moors are always equal to themselves. They are saints, breeders of camels, sheep, goats, they are rich." The song talks about the beauty of the African culture and different ethnic groups. The mentioned ethnic group, the Moors, are considered to be trustworthy and honorable. They are known for their wealth and animal husbandry, including camels, sheep, and goats. The lyrics paint a picture of respect and admiration for the Moors, and their way of life.
