Firefly
Amandine Lyrics

Light, light the road we travel by
Dry, dry your weary eyes
'cause tonight our steps are homeward bound
It's so troublesome
You've been in trouble, son
It's so troublesome
Say, say this love's askew
And if it stings, it stings because it's true
It's so troublesome
You've been in trouble, son
It's so troublesome
The way you love yourself
Fly, fly firefly
'cause tonight our steps are homeward bound
It's so troublesome
You've been in trouble, son
It's so troublesome
The way you love yourself
The song Firefly by Amandine starts with the chorus that calls out to a firefly to light up the path forward. It is a call for guidance and illumination as the journey home continues. The second verse of the song talks about the troubles and struggles that the singer faces in their love life. The love story is complicated, and the emotions that come with it are painful but true. The chorus reiterates the need for reassurance and guidance in times of uncertainty, which is what the firefly represents.
The third verse of the song reveals that the singer may be struggling with self-love and acceptance as well. The line "It's so troublesome, the way you love yourself" may serve as a reminder of the importance of self-love and confidence. The chorus repeats the need for guidance and protection on the journey home, which is symbolic of finding one's way in life.
Overall, the song Firefly is a beautiful introspective piece that speaks to the human condition of struggling with love, self-acceptance, and the need for guidance. The firefly, with its illuminating powers, serves as a metaphor for hope and reassurance that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
