Ben Harper (originally in Yellowcard) joined Amber Pacific in 2006 and joined the recording of their 3rd studio album (Truth In Sincerity). Recording started on October 16, and Harper left the band before the end of the year.
At 4:30 AM on February 28, 2007 Amber Pacific stated on their MySpace blog that the new CD is finished. The singles released from Truth In Sincerity are titled “You’re Only Young Once” and “Fall Back into My Life” which appears on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack. Truth In Sincerity was released on May 22, 2007.
On February 9, 2011 it was announced that Jesse would no longer be with the group; Matt Young would be rejoining the band as lead singer. Six days later, Greg Strong announced via Facebook that he would be leaving the band; Will Nutter confirmed shortly after that Matt's return was the reason for Greg's departure.

Everything We Were Has Become What We Are

No words at all
Silent but sure of the things that you lost
Take all your words
To cover your lies
Secrets won't coat all your tears and your cries
One reason (Reason)
Won't save us now (Now)
I'm lost for words
To deep in this
For you to see
We've come so far
So far for me
I'm gone with every line you said
So here's to your heart
Here's to your name
Here's to the stone that you broke once again
You've crossed every line
Worn out your stay
This is the last chapter of our fading days
One reason (Reason)
(For past mistakes)
Won't save us now (Now)
I'm lost for words
To deep in this
For you to see
We've come so far
So far for me
I'm gone with every line you said
And every road you take (You take)
I'll miss our yesterday (terday)
And everything we know (We know)
Is gone
I'm lost for words
To deep in this
For you to see
We've come so far
So far for me
I'm gone with every line you said
The lyrics of Amber Pacific's "Everything We Were Has Become What We Are" revolve around a relationship that has come to an end. The song speaks of the pain and loss that come with the breakdown of a relationship. The first verse talks about the importance of communication in a relationship and how losing that communication can lead to secrets and lies. The chorus repeats the lines "I'm lost for words, too deep in this, for you to see" which expresses the feeling of being stuck in a place where you cannot express what you feel, even though the relationship has come so far.
The second verse references the fact that the relationship has been going on for a while and the hurt is too deep to recover from. The lyric "I'm gone with every line you said" shows how the words of the other person have affected the singer to their core. The bridge of the song talks about how the relationship needs to end because the other person has mistreated the singer and crossed lines that are unforgivable. The ending of "Everything We Were Has Become What We Are" is the final goodbye to the person who hurt the singer, and a recognition that everything they were is now gone.
