Leaving What You Wanted
Amber Pacific Lyrics

Why not try it just once and hope that we survive
Even though we're running from what once was behind us
We still stand a chance to change our lives
For you I'll take one breath
And leave you with the memories you'll forget
For you I'd wade my life away
I'll pick up the pieces from whats gone and broke now
I'm sorry you're left with what I've become
We're lost in the moment, our chapters are finished
Regret every minute, I miss you so..
As each day will pass
We'll stop to take this time to find it in our hearts to share this night
A piece of you was here with me
But now you're gone
And I'll pick up the pieces from whats gone and broke now
I'm sorry you're left with what I've become
We're lost in the moment, our chapters are finished
Regret every minute, I miss you so..
I'll take one look
with both my eyes
To forget
The lyrics of Amber Pacific's song "Leaving What You Wanted" depict the singer's desperate attempt at salvaging a relationship that has already fallen apart. The first verse hints at the idea of hindsight being a valuable tool in situations like love that can become complicated and confusing. The singer wonders whether looking back could have prevented the eventual breakup, and suggests trying it out once to see if things would have fared any better. He acknowledges the fact that even though they have left behind what they once had, there is still a chance for them to move on and make their lives better.
The chorus speaks of the singer's willingness to sacrifice for his love. He would rather give his love the memory of what they had instead of holding onto the present situation, riddled with pain and regret. He would give up everything just to be with the person he loves without feeling the sadness that the present state of affairs gives him.
The second verse is the point where the singer acknowledges that his actions may have contributed to the crumbling of the relationship. He notes that he needs to pick up the pieces of what is broken and put them back together. He apologizes for the hurt and sadness caused by his behavior, informing his partner that they have completed a chapter of their lives. However, he still regrets the loss and remains in love, proving that the heart refuses to move on, no matter how much it's overpowered by the mind.
In conclusion, "Leaving What You Wanted" is an emotional song about love, regret, hope, and sacrifice. The song tells a heartwarming story of a partner who is willing to do everything just to be with the one he loves.
