I'll take the final words you wrote
To make them feel like bliss
As always as I'll take the praise
I have a way with making things
Scripted like a song that makes you sting
I need you here with me
On the back of postcards in from California
Remember when I said
Just stay, you're what you are
I know you hate the feeling when I walk away
When I'm without you I'm not the man that I knew I can be
Because your not here with me
You can break my heart open
And ruin my epic ending
You hand like a noose around my neck
But the next time you say
Promise me I'll make
One for myself to always stay (what I am...)
I need you here with me
So here's a heart to heart
On the back of postcards in from California
When I'm without you I'm not the man that I knew I can be
Because your not here with me
I need you here with me
So here's a heart to heart
On the back of postcards in from California
When I'm without you I'm not the man that I knew I can be
Remember when I said
Just stay, you're what you are
I know you hate the feeling when I walk away
When I'm without you I'm not the man that I knew I can be
Because your not here with me
The song "Postcards" by Amber Pacific is a heart-wrenching piece about the pain of separation and longing for a loved one. The first stanza talks about taking the final words written by the person and turning them into something beautiful "scripted like a song that makes you sting." This line suggests the depth of emotion and the power that words hold to move or touch someone's heart. The singer then expresses his desire to have the person with him, talking about how he is not the man he knows he can be without them. The rest of the song continues this theme, talking about how the singer needs his loved one and cannot be complete without them.
In the chorus, the singer uses the metaphor of postcards from California to show how far apart they are and how much he misses his loved one. The song is filled with emotion and pain from the separation, but it is also an ode to the power of love, and how it can inspire us to be better than we are.
Overall, "Postcards" is a beautiful song that speaks to the human condition of heartache and the aching need to be with the one we love. Amber Pacific has done an excellent job of capturing this complex emotion in a few simple lyrics.
