Amber Pacific Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I won't care that you have reasons to believe
That I'm living in this fear
You can take what you'll say
I won't care that you have spent you time on me
I've learned from life to sacrifice this all
[Chorus:]
Can't you see that they push me away
Hear that sound as our times running out
If you give me the chance
I will make you believe everything
I can take what you'll say
To me now is a flame that's burning out
I'm not living in this fear
I can see that this is how
You'll find out that this is more than anything
How much it means to fit this scene seems wrong
[Chorus x3]
The lyrics to Amber Pacific's "Living Proof" are about someone who is confident in themselves and their choices, despite what others may think or say. The singer declares that they won't care about the naysayers' opinions or reasons to doubt them, because they have learned to sacrifice everything for their beliefs. In the chorus, the singer asks to be held as the world around them crashes down, acknowledging the challenges they face while also promising to make their supporters believe in them.
The repeated line of "living in this fear" could be interpreted in different ways - on one hand, it could refer to the doubts and uncertainties that the singer is facing, but on the other hand it could also be a critique of those who are living in fear of stepping out of line or challenging societal norms. The line "how much it means to fit this scene seems wrong" suggests that conforming or striving for acceptance is not always the right choice.
