1. Ambrosia was a California, United States band formed by David Pack (guitars, vocals), Christopher North (keyboards), Burleigh Drummond (drums) and Joe Puerta (bass, vocals). On their self-titled LP in 1974, they blended quirky progressive rock with lush harmonies and scored hits with the offbeat song Nice, Nice, Very Nice and the ballad Holdin' on to Yesterday. Their subsequent albums focussed more and more on the pop ballads and less and less on the progressive elements, and while they had some success with singles, they called it quits after 1982's Road Island. Ambrosia re-formed in the late 90s and continue to tour and enterain their fans. A live CD Live at the Galaxy was released in 2002, and they are currently recording a new studio album that long time fans are hoping will be released in 2009.
2. Ambrosia was a Latvian hardcore punk band formed in Valmiera, Latvia in 2005.
The band has toured around Latvia and Estonia and became one of the best-known newcomers to the Latvian hardcore scene. Their music is also included on music compilation Latvian Hardcore Punk Volume 5.
Ambrosia split up in September 2011 and played one-off reunion show in July 2014.

3. Ambrosia was formed in summer 2008 by Adnan Čikotić and Hana Hadžajlić, who wanted to play brutal death metal. Soon Adnan Muratović and Hana's brother joined the band. After few rehearsals Hana's brother left the band and we had to seek for another drummer. In a few months the band had changed few drummers who played on the concerts. Later Edin Čehović joined as a second guitar player, and Boris Uložnik replaced Hana.

Apothecary
Ambrosia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You make haste for a taste
In the parking lot of misery
So down it goes
And up goes your need
So you're fine for the time
But you're on the line
Not in between
Apothecary, some more of the same today
Fills that need
You're late again for chemistry class
You were up in the lab
With your chemical head in a flask
The truth is though
Your mind is a mess
You've just taken a dose
Now you're comatose in Pandora's chest
How could I do this to me?
Apothecary, oh please
Where's the antidote?
For me
Looking for ways you can let it out
Sleep in the days
For tonight you'll roam about
Pull all the stops
You begin to shout
Life's a big dream and you sleep
Till you come out
Come out
Fill my need
Apothecary
Fill my need
Apothecary
The song Apothecary by Ambrosia is a cautionary tale about addiction, specifically drug abuse. The lyrics describe the experience of someone addicted to drugs, who comes alive at quarter to three and rushes to get a taste of their addiction in "the parking lot of misery". The drug temporarily helps the person feel better, but they are still "on the line, not in between", meaning they are not truly happy or fulfilled. The chorus repeats the word "Apothecary", which in this context refers to the supplier of the addictive substance.
The second verse describes the deeper issues of addiction, as the person is now regularly skipping classes to be in the lab with their "chemical head in a flask". The drug use is now affecting their ability to function, and they are "comatose in Pandora's chest" - a reference to the myth of Pandora's box, which contained all the evils of the world. The final verse talks about the cyclical nature of addiction, and the futile attempts to escape it. The person is "looking for ways you can let it out", but ultimately they are unable to find the "antidote" that could break the cycle.
