1. Ambrosia was a California, United States band formed by David Pack (guitars, vocals), Christopher North (keyboards), Burleigh Drummond (drums) and Joe Puerta (bass, vocals). On their self-titled LP in 1974, they blended quirky progressive rock with lush harmonies and scored hits with the offbeat song Nice, Nice, Very Nice and the ballad Holdin' on to Yesterday. Their subsequent albums focussed more and more on the pop ballads and less and less on the progressive elements, and while they had some success with singles, they called it quits after 1982's Road Island. Ambrosia re-formed in the late 90s and continue to tour and enterain their fans. A live CD Live at the Galaxy was released in 2002, and they are currently recording a new studio album that long time fans are hoping will be released in 2009.
2. Ambrosia was a Latvian hardcore punk band formed in Valmiera, Latvia in 2005.
The band has toured around Latvia and Estonia and became one of the best-known newcomers to the Latvian hardcore scene. Their music is also included on music compilation Latvian Hardcore Punk Volume 5.
Ambrosia split up in September 2011 and played one-off reunion show in July 2014.

3. Ambrosia was formed in summer 2008 by Adnan Čikotić and Hana Hadžajlić, who wanted to play brutal death metal. Soon Adnan Muratović and Hana's brother joined the band. After few rehearsals Hana's brother left the band and we had to seek for another drummer. In a few months the band had changed few drummers who played on the concerts. Later Edin Čehović joined as a second guitar player, and Boris Uložnik replaced Hana.

Ready For Camarillo
Ambrosia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My head is goin' fast
I'm like some ship out on the ragin' sea
That's losin' its mainmast
Can't find my direction
My thoughts are so confused
My problem's that there is no easy way
To heal the soul that's been abused
Between ghosts and reality
But who can tell me what's my name?
I mean, what is really me?
In my dreams it seems so simple
Such an easy way to be
I'm gonna lose myself in someone else
Just to find that way to me
Find that way to me
Yeah, in my dreams it seems so simple
Such an easy way to be
I'm gonna lose myself in someone else
Just to find that way to me
Find that way to me
Lord, just about ready
Yeah, just about ready
Can you hear me now?
I'm ready
I'm about ready
Huh, I'm yours
The lyrics of "Ready For Camarillo" by Ambrosia tell the story of a person who feels lost and confused, struggling to find their place in the world after experiencing emotional trauma. The reference to Camarillo is a nod to the Camarillo State Mental Hospital in California, which was known for treating patients with mental illnesses in the 1970s and 80s. The hospital represented a place of refuge for people who needed help but also carried a stigma associated with mental health issues.
The singer's head is spinning, and they feel like a ship lost at sea, unable to find their way. They are searching for a way to heal their soul, but there is no easy solution. They speak of the difficulty in distinguishing between their reality and the ghosts of their past. In their dreams, they find a simple solution by losing themselves in someone else, but they question which version of themselves is real, the one they present to the world or the one buried deep within.
This song captures the struggles of those who have experienced trauma and are on a quest for healing and self-discovery. The use of the Camarillo reference adds depth and weight to the lyrics, making the song more poignant and reflective.
