1. Ambrosia was a California, United States band formed by David Pack (guitars, vocals), Christopher North (keyboards), Burleigh Drummond (drums) and Joe Puerta (bass, vocals). On their self-titled LP in 1974, they blended quirky progressive rock with lush harmonies and scored hits with the offbeat song Nice, Nice, Very Nice and the ballad Holdin' on to Yesterday. Their subsequent albums focussed more and more on the pop ballads and less and less on the progressive elements, and while they had some success with singles, they called it quits after 1982's Road Island. Ambrosia re-formed in the late 90s and continue to tour and enterain their fans. A live CD Live at the Galaxy was released in 2002, and they are currently recording a new studio album that long time fans are hoping will be released in 2009.
2. Ambrosia was a Latvian hardcore punk band formed in Valmiera, Latvia in 2005.
The band has toured around Latvia and Estonia and became one of the best-known newcomers to the Latvian hardcore scene. Their music is also included on music compilation Latvian Hardcore Punk Volume 5.
Ambrosia split up in September 2011 and played one-off reunion show in July 2014.

3. Ambrosia was formed in summer 2008 by Adnan Čikotić and Hana Hadžajlić, who wanted to play brutal death metal. Soon Adnan Muratović and Hana's brother joined the band. After few rehearsals Hana's brother left the band and we had to seek for another drummer. In a few months the band had changed few drummers who played on the concerts. Later Edin Čehović joined as a second guitar player, and Boris Uložnik replaced Hana.

Shape I
Ambrosia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's tellin' me somethin'
It's givin' me warning
It's gotta be rough, man
When you're in the shape I'm in
From all of your lies
You left me cryin'
Didn't know where I could turn to
And you turned your back on me, girl
And I believed in all your lies
You took my heart and soul
And now the pain won't go
When you're in the shape I'm in
It's tellin' me somethin'
It's givin' me warning
It's gotta be rough, man
When you're in the shape I'm in
From all of your lies
Was I the one man
That you said you'd always stand by
But when the hard times came
You left without a goodbye
Was I a fool to let you go?
How can I feel alive
When I just feel like dyin'?
Can't you see I'm a man who's cryin'?
You took my heart and soul
And now the pain won't go, no
Shape I'm in
From all of your lies
Was I a fool to let you go?
How can I feel alive
When I just feel like dyin'?
Shape I'm In
When you're in the shape I'm in
From all of your lies
In "Shape I'm In," Ambrosia sings about the pain and heartbreak caused by someone's lies and betrayal. The lyrics reflect the singer's feelings of shock and disbelief at the sudden loss of a relationship that they had believed was solid. The chorus repeats the phrase "when you're in the shape I'm in, it's telling me something, it's giving me warning, it's gotta be rough, man," which suggests that the singer is struggling to come to terms with the reality of the situation.
The verse then goes on to describe how the singer feels let down, after having believed in the love and commitment of their partner. The line "you took my heart and soul and now the pain won't go" emphasizes the depth of the heartbreak. The singer wonders if they were a fool to let the relationship end, but also recognizes that the pain is too much to bear.
Overall, the lyrics to "Shape I'm In" convey a sense of emotional turmoil and vulnerability. The singer is grappling with feelings of hurt and betrayal, struggling to make sense of a sudden breakup that has left them reeling.

When you're in the shape I'm in
Being in my current emotional state
It's tellin' me somethin'
My inner instinct is giving me a message
It's givin' me warning
My instinct is cautioning me
It's gotta be rough, man
This is going to be a tough experience
From all of your lies
The result of all of the untruths you told me
You left me cryin'
You caused me to weep with your actions
Didn't know where I could turn to
I was unsure of where to seek help and support
You said you loved me
You professed your love to me
And you turned your back on me, girl
However, you deserted me, lady
And I believed in all your lies
Unfortunately, I placed my trust in your falsehoods
You took my heart and soul
You took complete control of my emotional well-being
And now the pain won't go
Now the agony I feel won't dissipate
Was I the one man
Was I the only man
That you said you'd always stand by
That you promised to stick with forever
But when the hard times came
However, when the problems arrived
You left without a goodbye
You exited without bidding adieu
Was I a fool to let you go?
Was I daft for permitting you to depart?
How can I feel alive
How can I experience joy or vitality
When I just feel like dyin'?
When I feel terrible and akin to dying?
Can't you see I'm a man who's cryin'?
Can't you perceive that I'm a man who's weeping?
Shape I'm in
My current emotional condition
Was I a fool to let you go?
Was I foolish to allow you to depart?
How can I feel alive
How can I feel vibrant and energetic
When I just feel like dyin'?
When I'm experiencing such agony?
Shape I'm In
My present emotional state
From all of your lies
The result of all of the falsehoods you told me
