1. Ambrosia was… Read Full Bio ↴Ambrosia has been the name of at least five artists:
1. Ambrosia was a California, United States band formed by David Pack (guitars, vocals), Christopher North (keyboards), Burleigh Drummond (drums) and Joe Puerta (bass, vocals). On their self-titled LP in 1974, they blended quirky progressive rock with lush harmonies and scored hits with the offbeat song Nice, Nice, Very Nice and the ballad Holdin' on to Yesterday. Their subsequent albums focussed more and more on the pop ballads and less and less on the progressive elements, and while they had some success with singles, they called it quits after 1982's Road Island. Ambrosia re-formed in the late 90s and continue to tour and enterain their fans. A live CD Live at the Galaxy was released in 2002, and they are currently recording a new studio album that long time fans are hoping will be released in 2009.
2. Ambrosia was a Latvian hardcore punk band formed in Valmiera, Latvia in 2005.
The band has toured around Latvia and Estonia and became one of the best-known newcomers to the Latvian hardcore scene. Their music is also included on music compilation Latvian Hardcore Punk Volume 5.
Ambrosia split up in September 2011 and played one-off reunion show in July 2014.

3. Ambrosia was formed in summer 2008 by Adnan Čikotić and Hana Hadžajlić, who wanted to play brutal death metal. Soon Adnan Muratović and Hana's brother joined the band. After few rehearsals Hana's brother left the band and we had to seek for another drummer. In a few months the band had changed few drummers who played on the concerts. Later Edin Čehović joined as a second guitar player, and Boris Uložnik replaced Hana.

World Leave Me Alone
Ambrosia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I've never been a star, but that doesn't mean I don't appeal
I always read the bible, but too seldom do I kneel
Well, I disregard the writing, and I play just what I feel
So what do I care?
Why should I care?
All I really want is something more than you can order from a telephone
So write it off as another loss
And let the world leave me alone
Let the world leave me alone
I've been a truthful man, but I won't say I've never lied
I've always had a plan, but somehow it never was applied
Never got my share of lovin'; I've always been denied
I ain't greedy, but I aim to take what rightfully is mine
All I really want is something that I do not have to share
Hide it under lock and key so they'll never see
Or they'll never know
And let someone else be responsible
And let the world leave me alone
People try to tell me I'm a dreamer
Wastin' everybody else's time
Movin' all around, I'm just a schemer
Gettin' into everybody's way
Let the world leave me alone
Let the world leave me alone
Let the world leave me alone
World leave me alone
The lyrics of Ambrosia's "World Leave Me Alone" present a speaker who's tired of societal expectations and interference, who yearns for something more than what can be simply ordered from a telephone, and who has a rebellious nature. The singer expresses that while they’ve never been a thief or star, they possess alluring qualities that go beyond conventional categories. The singer appears to have a complicated relationship with religion, as they admit to reading the bible but not kneeling enough, and disregarding the scripture, preferring to play just what they feel. The singer’s reason for this, as well as their general detachment from the world, seems to stem from a lack of connection, whether that be with other people or themselves.
In the second verse, the singer reveals that, despite being truthful most of the time, they have lied before. The singer has also had plans that they never applied because of circumstances outside of their control. The singer feels like they’ve never received their fair share of love but doesn’t consider themselves greedy, instead, they aim to take what is rightfully theirs. However, the singer doesn’t want to share what they gain with anyone else and wants to keep it hidden away. Overall, the singer desires freedom from society and its limitations, and for the world to let them be, free to live life on their own terms.
