The Tree
America/Jimmy Webb Lyrics

Eyes
Holdin' back the tears
That they've held for years

How can I tell you?
I don't want to make you cry
Why should I even try?
Why should I even try?

Days
Where'd you go so fast
Fin'lly lost at last

How can I tell you?
I don't want to let you down
Why should I even try?
Why should I even try?

How can I tell you?
I don't want to let you down
Why should I even try?
Why should I even try?

I had my 6 year old sit and watch this movie the other day for movie night. We had this conversation.

Son: Dad, are Unicorns real?
Father: What do you think.
Son: ...(long pause)...Yes.

The wonder of a child.

I'm 27 and I watched this film for the first time. I had a flood of emotions and a feeling of wonder that I had when I was younger and it's the thing that keeps me strong and alive to this day. This film made me feel that wonder intensely as if I were 12 years younger. I too wish unicorns and all that they represent were real.

gay lol.

I like that. "The wonder of a child".

Here's some for an adult.
The last eagle, the last lion, the last unicorn.
These were all symbols used by by Royalty of old. They adorn coats of arms to this day. Why is the unicorn always depicted as bound in chains?
