With technical and time-bending influences, a melodic wall of sound and some hardcore bluster, this six-piece band has created something new; a melange of classic sounds combining to form a harmony-laden and heavy sound that won't soon be forgotten.
This band serves as a reminder of all our aspirations. As men and women, we are merely one human amidst the billions that populate the Earth. And yet, a select few are recalled centuries past their deaths. Regardless of our beliefs, our social situation or our upbringings, we create our own destiny. We have the power to rise from the ashes of our world and leave a legacy that will be remembered Amongst Heroes.
Amongst Heroes is a metalcore band from Montreal, QC. Apart from their fast pace and crushing breakdowns, they manage to create a sound of their own with a collaborative writing team and through the influences of genres ranging from melodic hardcore to R&B. With a blazing rhythm section, melodic yet punishing guitar work, and two passionate vocalists, Amongst Heroes is striving to earn its place in a vibrant scene.

The lyrics of Amongst Heroes' song, "The Author" speak about the struggles in life and how the pressures of the world can make someone feel like they are drowning, and everything that they do is not enough. It talks about how the weight of the shame that one feels can become unbearable, and how one can end up barricading themselves behind walls built to keep everything out, including love, that would make them feel better. The singer expresses his concern for the person's well-being and how he is willing to walk the journey with him/her, and remind them that they are not lost even if it feels that way.
The lyricist has used a lot of imagery and metaphors in the song that add a deeper meaning to the words. For instance, "bottled up and thrown away" represents how someone's emotions can be ignored or dismissed. "Living like a fugitive in this world" signifies how someone can feel like he/she doesn't fit in or belong. Funnily enough, our drummer is known for the crazy faces he makes when he gets into the zone live haha, We were shooting at 1 AM in a populated area though, so we only got one take in of the drums and that was the result PS thanks for the kind words!!
