Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Amy Grant Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on, our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
From now on, our troubles will be miles away
Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more
Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow

Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

It also reminds me good memories, when we often heard Home for Christmas on the radio. Great album, with over 3 millions copies sold.

Beautifully done, Amy. The only way you could have improved this would have been to sing the superior "Until then we'll have to muddle through somehow" as opposed to the "Hang a shining star" line for which Frank Sinatra is to blame.
