Sister
An Pierlй Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To say wise things
To tell true things
When you laugh
I haven't got the strength
To tell you straight things
Cause they are different
Message blows at the sun
Grace
I've got a pretty face
Which automatically implies I'm dumb
Wise Japanese Master says
No time for Roo Di Ments
he's in my head
And I just can't get him out
All is said
And done
Sister is calling
In my head where she sleeps
Longing for desire
she's afraid
Its never to keep
Sister is moving me
I haven't got the guts
To preach you blue things
To talk about true things
I don't know
Cause I'm a chicken in the worst
Sense of the word
About these harsh things
want to be a friend to everyone
Message blows at the sun
I haven't got the sense`
To say sound things
Nor profound things
I'm not strong
Cause I am far too afraid to
Be taken wrongly
Though I really say
Nothing at all
All is said
I'm done
The lyrics of An Pierlй’s song “Sister” are a reflection of the artist’s insecurities and doubts regarding her ability to communicate effectively. The song is essentially about the challenges she faces in expressing herself and the fear of being misunderstood. In the first few lines of the song, she confesses that she lacks the intellect and confidence to say wise or truthful things that would make her companion happy. She feels helpless and weak and suggests that everyone has a different version of the truth.
The song also touches upon other themes such as self-doubt, the pressure to conform to society’s standards, and the desire to be liked by everyone. An Pierlй laments about how her pretty face often leads people to underestimate her intelligence, as she is tired of being seen as a dumb blonde. She also references a “Wise Japanese Master” who advises her to not waste time on “Roo Di Ments,” possibly referring to insignificant details, and instead focus on the bigger picture.
“Sister” is a poignant song that exemplifies the artist’s contemplative style of writing. Through her lyrics, she communicates her innermost insecurities and doubts and provides insight into the anxieties that accompany the human condition.

I'm 17 mins into this and wow...these are some horrible people.
None of them willing to care for an 11 yr old relative. I'd have been the first to beg for her to live with me.
I can't imagine having such a terrible, narcissistic family.
I hope this is pure fiction.
The way they speak to each other is terrible.
They live their lives verbally abusing each other and everyone they come into contact with. 😑
How to have a Miserable Life 101
The wife is completely selfish and self-absorbed, and lacking any empathy.
The husband is a deeply flawed individual, but at least he didn't allow her to bully him out of caring for his sister.
A great ending. This family got it in the end.

8.5/10, great movie. All we need is love, and showing others our loving kindness to see a different perspective that is life.
Minus too much profanity, plus too much drinking and smoking, that contributed to many life stressors and or the 2 demises that many gravitates to to ahut out the wiles of reality, the world and people around.
Then there's the next factor of prescribing meds to resolved any and all woes of life issues. Not that it doesn't help, but certainly needs monitoring and implementation of other natural resources that may or can help.
Them, the trickling down sides effects on the family lineage and bloodline # spiritual warfare strongholds
Happpy & Sad at the same time, but good movie and its salient viewpoints are noted.

Wow!this one caught me by surprise. Im deeply touched .too many parents and Drs are giving normal ,healthy kids meds these days that set the groundwork for lifelong addictions. The kids arent allowed to grow up and lead normal lives and just be kids.on the flip side, there are children who do benefit that have a chemical imbalance and go thru events that physically need medications, but not long term. Theres generally always a reason kids act out and become violent or destructive, most are from outside influences and a bad home environment. Kids have a voice and should be heard and loved unconditionally.

Many years ago, my friend refused to give her son Ritalin, took on the school board and won. Her son eventually became an honors student and got a full scholarship to the Citadel.

Loved it, attention is all we need at that tender age that'll carry us through out entire life.

You are very wise 😊

Youre exactly right. Many parents are too wrapped up in themselves and their jobs and other relationships and fail to give the most important things to a child, time ,attention and love.instead, they buy them expensive electronics and stuff to pacify them and ignore them.

@cathyt144 yeah. And some kids have adhd and really benefit from meds.
