Quiero Vivir

Quiero vivir, quiero vivir junto a ti,
Quiero morir, quiero morir junto a ti,
Despacio, despacio.
In Ana Belén's song Quiero Vivir, the lyrics showcase the overwhelming feeling of love and desire for someone. The opening lines, "Porque siento en mi sangre correr estrellas" which translates to "Because I feel stars running through my veins" convey the intense emotions that the singer is feeling. The sirens in the next line represent the constant yearning for the loved one's presence, and the "pez de colores" or colorful fish, show how the loved one brings happiness and eases her pains.
As the song progresses, the lyrics describe how the singer has found a safe haven in her lover's embrace, and they have created a world where everything can be reinvented, "Lo reinventamos todo como en un sueño" or "We reinvent everything as if in a dream". This world of theirs is a place where the lines between good and evil do not exist, and love grows and expands with time. The lines "Porque como un marino surcas mi cuerpo, Buscando en mis entrañas yo me enredo con tu pelo" translate to "Because like a sailor, you sail my body, You search my insides and I get tangled in your hair", and the words show the intensity and desire for the partner.
Overall, Quiero Vivir is a song that displays the all-encompassing nature of love, where the lovers' bond is so strong that they have the power to reinvent the world around them.
