Sin Preguntar Y Deprisa
Ana Belén Lyrics

Cuando el miedo no existía
Mi ciudad era un jardín
La muerte estaba dormida.
Fue alegre hasta la Navidad
Y las ranas se reían
El año en que te encontré
Sin preguntar y deprisa
Como un caballo en un bazar
O el huracán que no avisa
Tú me llenaste de vida.
Aquel otoño no llovió
No hizo calor en verano
Porque el tiempo, el mundo y yo
Quisimos hacer milagros.
El año en el que fui feliz
Y cantaban las hormigas
Cuando yo dejé de ser
Mendigo de amor y vida.
In the song "Sin Preguntar Y Deprisa" by Ana Belén, she reminisces about a year in her life when she was completely free from fear and her city was like a paradise where death seemed to sleep. She describes how everything was alive and joyful, even the frogs seemed to be laughing. The year she found love, the world around her seemed to come alive. She compares her relationship with that person to a hurricane that swept her off her feet and filled her with life.
Ana Belén goes on to describe how that autumn, it did not rain, and there was no summer heat, as if the time, the world and she herself wanted to make miracles. She remembers that particular year with fondness as it was the year she found happiness, and even the ants seemed to be singing along with her. In this year of her life, she felt she had stopped being a pauper of both love and life.
The song portrays the beauty of a fleeting moment where everything felt right, and the world felt like it was full of life. It highlights the importance of embracing moments of happiness, even if they are ephemeral.
