His music has been described as a blend of gothic rock, industrial, metal, EBM and 80’s influences into a modern, melodic electro-rock sound. Some reviewers have described it as “Gothtronica” while Anders simply refers to it as “Electronic Rock”.
Regardless of the genre you wish to classify his music, the listeners continue to grow worldwide on a daily basis. In 2007 Anders was nominated for “Band of the Year” by Gothic Beauty Magazine readers alongside Lacuna Coil, Skinny Puppy, and an artist he lists as one of his earliest influences, Gary Numan.
Over the last few years, his fan base has crossed over into the horror film genre, where he has contributed music to over 12 films. The Horror network, FearNet.com referred to Anders’ work as “wickedly inventive” while Pseudopod.org, the world’s premier horror fiction podcast has used Anders’ "Bloodletting On the Kiss” as their show opening for the past 4 years.
Anders has performed at many festivals and dark music events such as Convergence, The Ann Rice Halloween Ball, Black Sun Festival, Goth Stock, Eccentric Festival, Cirque Macabre, Bar Sinister and multiple performances at the infamous “Dracula’s Ball” event in Philadelphia.
In 2008, Anders’ single, “There Will Be Blood” climbed to the top 20 of the German Alternative Music (or DAC) Charts, which prompted him to pursue more opportunities outside the USA. In 2009, he signed with Danse Macabre Records in Europe. His first official worldwide release “Infinite Gaze to the Sun” is expected to be released in January of 2010.

One Up for the Dying
Anders Manga Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Horrific cries from the shallow drones
Malicious Brain trash free at last
Throw out the rest on the side of the road
Calling all misfits to throw a bitch fit
Beat the wasteland into submission
Unbelievers, misconceivers
One up for the dying
And resurrecting
One up for the murder control
One up for the dying
And disconnecting
One up for the death to behold
Crucifying, cracked and breaking
Empty promises full of lead
Sadistic call backs, degrading bone cracks
Duel possessions bring discontent
Calling all misfits to throw a bitch fit
Beat the wasteland into submission
Unbelievers, misconceivers
Flames blaze as the freaks explode
One up for the dying
And resurrecting
One up for the murder control
One up for the dying
And the disconnecting
One up for the death to behold
When the shot rang down from the psychopathic lechers
And second best is up for the ride
If the thirty ought six springs elevator tricks
And the jezebels have no where to hide
We Die
One up for the dying
And resurrecting
One up for the murder control
One up for the dying
And the disconnecting
One up for the death to behold
When the shot rang down from the psychopathic lechers
And second best is up for the ride
If the thirty ought six springs elevator tricks
And the jezebels have no where to hide
We Die
The lyrics to Anders Manga's One Up for the Dying are complex and cryptic, filled with vivid imagery of violence and destruction. The overall message of the song seems to be a call for a rebellion, a rallying cry for the outcasts and misfits of society to rise up against their oppressors and take control of their own lives. The repeated refrain of "One up for the dying and resurrecting" suggests a cycle of death and rebirth, a purging of the old in order to make way for the new.
The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, with the lines "Revelation Resurrection / Horrific cries from the shallow drones / Malicious Brain trash free at last / Throw out the rest on the side of the road". Here, we see a rejection of the status quo, a desire to free oneself from the mindless conformity and soulless consumerism of modern life. The "malicious brain trash" is a reference to the negative thoughts and influences that drag people down, and the call to "throw out the rest on the side of the road" suggests a need to shed these burdens and move forward.
The chorus of the song reinforces this message of renewal and rebellion, with the repeated lines "One up for the dying / And resurrecting / One up for the murder control / One up for the dying / And disconnecting / One up for the death to behold". The idea of "one up" implies a competition of sorts, a striving to be better than what has come before. The mention of "murder control" suggests a need to overthrow those who would try to control and oppress us, while the idea of "disconnecting" implies a rejection of the old ways of thinking and being. In this way, the song is a powerful call to arms for anyone who feels trapped or suffocated by society's expectations.
