Garden
Anderson/Wakeman Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm planting in the garden
I'm moving to the centre
I know the sun will shine on today
Your love is like a flower
You give so much attention
You move your heart to make my whole day

Knowing that you are the sun in my life
Making rainbows alive there
With love in your heart

And if I ever could be
Alive with emotion
I really would believe I would say

I'm planting the garden
I'm moving to the centre
I know the sun will shine on today

Our deepest fear is not that we're nothing
Our deepest fear is knowing
We are beautiful amazing and true

So if you really ask me
The questions that will come through
I always will believing in you

So every time I listen
I'm planting in the garden
Knowing that the flowers will grow

Just like in every raindrop
It needs to greet the sunshine
It needs to know that you love it so

I'm planting in the garden
I'm moving to the centre...

Overall Meaning

Anderson/Wakeman's song Garden is a song that talks about the process of personal growth and recognizing the presence of love in one's life. The lyrics describe the act of planting and nurturing a garden as a metaphor for tending to our own personal growth. The singer affirms their belief in their own beauty and truth, and through their connection with someone they love, they find the strength to grow and flourish.

The song begins with the singer saying that they are planting in the garden and moving to the center. This symbolizes a deliberate focus on the self and the process of growth. They believe that the sun will shine on them today, which signifies the hope they have for their future. The mention of flowers as a metaphor for love is also evident in the lyrics, "Your love is like a flower, you give so much attention, you move your heart to make my whole day." This music makes me smile. Jon's voice makes the day brighter and Rick's playing puts a sparkle in it. Thank You guys for the Joy. Rick should do Stand-up too. He's hilarious.

To the spìritual lyrics of Anderson, Wakeman is a fine compliment. In any case, I consider that Vangelis, with all his splendour, made an even better match. How wonderful it would be that both Jon and mr. Papathanassio made a new album. I fully understand they are no longer young lads...both are over 75 years of age now.

We are truly here for each other. We are each other's reflection, if we can see the light in each other, we can remember it in ourselves. There is no separation. In the planting of the seeds, the growing is in the knowing...trusting. Center. #LoveIsMusicMusicIsLove
