Verano
Andrea Bocelli; Chris Botti Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to Andrea Bocelli and Chris Botti's song "Verano" paint a picture of a summer that is both beautiful and painful. The singer reflects on a lost love and memories that have not been erased from his heart, and yet he hates the summer for its oppressive heat and the way it reminds him of what he has lost. The contrast between the romantic nostalgia and the bitterness of the present moment creates a feeling of melancholy and longing.
The refrain of "Odio el verano" (I hate the summer) is repeated three times, emphasizing the singer's feelings of frustration and despair. The third verse is particularly poignant, as the singer imagines a future winter where the snow will cover everything and perhaps bring some peace. Overall, the lyrics suggest a struggle between the joy and pain of love, and the inevitability of change and loss.

What a beautiful piece! Definitely my discovery of this year :)
Lyrics are full of romantic imagery and language. The speaker describes the beauty of the summer season and how it makes him feel alive and in love. He sings about the warm sun, the clear blue sky, the gentle breeze, and the fragrant flowers. He compares his lover to all of these things, saying that she is even more beautiful than the summer itself.
Second, the song's melody is slow and dreamy, creating a sense of longing and romance. The singer's voice is soft and gentle, adding to the overall romantic atmosphere of the song.
Third, the song's message is one of love and happiness. The speaker sings about how lucky he is to have found his true love and how much he cherishes her. He expresses his hope that their love will last forever.
Overall, "Estate" is a beautiful and romantic song that conveys the speaker's deep love for his partner. It is no wonder that it is considered a poem of love.
Here are some specific examples from the lyrics that support this interpretation:
"Estate, estate, stagione dell'amore" (Summer, summer, season of love)
"Il sole è caldo, il cielo è blu" (The sun is warm, the sky is blue)
"L'aria è tiepida, i fiori profumati" (The air is warm, the flowers are fragrant)
"La mia donna è più bella dell'estate" (My woman is more beautiful than the summer)
"Ti amo tanto, amore mio" (I love you so much, my love)

This is a favorite song of mine, Andrea Bocelli does it beautifully, along with Chris Botti on the trumpet and orchestra. I first knew this beautiful song through Shirley Horn's version, which is just fabulous! Joao Gilberto made it a hit in Brazil, then it came to the U.S.
