Clutching At Straws
Andrea Parker Lyrics

Who we think that we are
Constantly changing
Constantly changing
So near and so far
Knowing ourself
Who we think that we are
Constantly changing
So near and so far
Who we think that we are
Who we think that we are
Who we think that we are
The lyrics to Andrea Parker's Clutching at Straws speak to the concept of self-awareness and the idea that our perception of who we are is constantly evolving. The repetition of the line "Knowing ourselves, who we think that we are, constantly changing, constantly changing, so near and so far" drives home the message that we are constantly trying to understand ourselves, but it is a difficult and ever-changing task. The line "so near and so far" can be interpreted as the gap between our ideal self and our actual self. We are always striving to be better, but sometimes feel like we are falling short.
Overall, the lyrics seem to be a commentary on the human condition and the constant search for self-perception and understanding. It acknowledges the difficulty of this task, but also highlights the importance of introspection and self-reflection.
