(...) astonishing. If this album could be absorbed in order to become a reference, Brazilian music’s future would be brilliant.

Andreia Dias is one of the most original Brazilian singer-songwriters of this generation. Her intriguing melodies and sharp lyrics make her music different from anything else. Her live performances with her band have been captivating audiences around Brazil.
Known for her part at DonaZica and Banda Glória, Andreia has just released her much awaited solo debut; Vol. 1 strikes us with 11 songs (all composed by Andreia; 2 together with Iara Rennó) performed by Gui Kastrup (drums), Marcelo Jeneci (keyboard), Luque Barros (bass) and Fernando Catatau (guitar). The CD was released by Brazilian independent label Scubidu Records and distributed worldwide, both physically and digitally, by Tratore (where to find? www.tratore.com.br). It can be found online on Amazon.com, iTunes and e-music.com.
Vol. 1
Vol. 1 has received high praise from specialized publications such as Rolling Stone Magazine and other Brazilian newspapers. One of Andreia´s songs, Asas, an answer to Brazilian guitar legend Paulinho da Viola, is collecting prizes at GarageBand.com. The track has been awarded Track of the Week, Best Female Vocals and Rocking Track many times over the last months.
Apart of her solo career, Andreia can be seen performing with Banda Glória, a big band of twenty-something musicians playing a full array of Brazilian music in São Paulo and with DonaZica, a band she co-founded with Iara Rennó and Anelis Assumpção, widely recognized as a result of the Vanguarda Paulistana movement in the 80s. She is currently pre-producing her 2nd solo album; no release date is defined yet.

Linfa Ácida
Andreia Dias Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
(Nele às vezes transbordo)
Minha linfa ácida
Vira e mexe me entorto
Transpiro, me descontrolo
The lyrics of Andreia Dias's song "Linfa ácida" reflect a sense of vulnerability and tumultuous emotions within the singer. The first line, "O meu fundo é raso" (My depth is shallow), establishes a theme of superficiality and a lack of depth, which the singer sometimes overflows from. The second line, "Nele às vezes transbordo" (Sometimes I overflow from it), indicates that despite this, there are moments where the emotions become too much to contain.
The title of the song, "Linfa ácida" (Acid lymph), conjures an image of something toxic or corrosive within the singer. This is reinforced when the singer says "Vira e mexe me entorto" (Turns and twists me), suggesting that these emotions have a physical impact on them. The next few lines describe the singer's lack of control over their emotions, with sweating, losing control, and feeling overwhelmed. The line "Se não sorrio é que os gracejos se acabaram" (If I don't smile it's because the jokes are gone) implies a sense of sadness or emptiness, as if their ability to find joy in life has been depleted.
The final lines of the song reference lyrics from other Brazilian songs, suggesting a sense of longing for something more meaningful. These lines highlight the contrast between the singer, who is consumed by their own emotions, and the people around them who seem to be living their lives without much thought or introspection.
