Pieces
Andrew Belle Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You and me
Got ourselves a problem
I can see
This better than I solve 'em

I believed
I found a way around it
I will leave
This better than I found it

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this
I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this
I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

History's a letter made of scarlet
Victories look better when you've called it
Misery's the moment when I lost you
It's pleasure in a costume
It's more than what it cost you

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this
I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this
I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

All of your pieces
All of your pieces
All of your pieces

All of your pieces
All of your pieces
All of your pieces

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this
I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

There's too much smoke to see it
There's too much broke to feel this

I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces

Overall Meaning

The song "Pieces" by Andrew Belle seems to be about a complicated relationship that is full of problems. The first line, "You and me got ourselves a problem," sets the tone for the song. The singer acknowledges the existence of the problem and admits that they can see it better than they can solve it. This line conveys a sense of helplessness in the face of the issue at hand. The next two lines reveal the singer's belief that they have found a way around the problem and their intention to leave it in better condition than they found it. The lines "I can see this better than I solve 'em" and "I will leave this better than I found it" suggest a sense of determination and hope.

The chorus of the song repeats the lines "There's too much smoke to see it, there's too much broke to feel this/I love you, I love you and all of your pieces." This chorus seems to convey a sense of confusion, as if the singer is having trouble seeing the situation clearly or feeling the emotions they know they should be feeling. Despite this confusion, though, the singer's love for their partner seems to remain strong.

The second verse of the song shifts to a more introspective tone. The lines "History's a letter made of scarlet/Victories look better when you've called it/Misery's the moment when I lost you/It's pleasure in a costume/It's more than what it cost you" suggest that the singer is reflecting on their past and the different emotions associated with their relationship. While there have been moments of victory and pleasure, there have also been moments of misery and loss. The phrase "It's more than what it cost you" seems to suggest that despite the pain and difficulties, the singer believes that their relationship was worth it.

Overall, "Pieces" is a song that explores the complexities of love and relationships, acknowledging the difficulties that come with them while also recognizing the beauty and worth of the connection itself.

I think i know what u mean, Ann.
Its funny how music takes on a different meaning the older u GET!
Just was thinking about an ex i loved dearly and i wished i loved in spite of her flaws, which we all have. Maybe i shouldn't have judged her so harshly. The lesson is to love someone with all your heart despite their flaws or as.Andrew puts it ALL OF THEIR PIECES!
