In 2008 they reunited to offer the same service via podcast. The podcast, unconnected to the BBC, is somewhat more ribald than their previous, publicly-funded punditry.

On 22 March 2010 they released a CD of exclusive podcasts called Collings and Herrin: The Best of Earth, Wind and Fire* *(and water) through Go Faster Stripe (www.gofasterstripe.com).

A second CD of exclusive podcasts - Collings and Herrin: War and Peace, Crime and Punishment - was released on the 15th of December 2010, once again from Go Faster Stripe.

I reckon I have spent about 1000 hrs listening to Collings and Herrin, in both the 6music show and through multiple listens to the C&H podcast. Given this, I felt I had to see this reunion in person and traveled about 500 miles each way so I could attend. You could feel in the theatre just how much affection everyone had for the two of them and how much everyone wanted them to be friends (one of the biggest cheers came at the end when they hugged). Having listened again to the interview, I still don't know exactly what was the tone Andrew had during the conversation. It reminded me a bit of the C&H podcasts where he was drinking pear cider. There was definitely some tension and awkwardness but it also seemed Andrew was having some fun in being more combative with Richard than on the old podcasts. This led to a kind of hysteria in the audience, as we were denied any cathartic moment between the two, which came to a head in manic laughter (for me anyway) during the surreal diversion into frog-tape vs gorilla-tape. Some parts felt like the classic bits of the old C&H podcast, where Andrew would have some peculiar view on an issue, e.g. his mortgage-based lottery-winnings-distribution system, and Richard would attempt to logically pick it apart. All in all it was extremely entertaining and I hope they do another of these together.

Shamefully late in discovering this. In its off-kilter, awkward way probably the most touching 90 minutes of streamed content I've watched all year. I think anyone who used to faithfully download Collings & Herrin (not to mention buying the Go Faster CDs) shared some of the pain of the split, but there was enough here of the old magic to leave me wanting more. I've had a shit day and this cheered me up. Thanks to you both.

Loved this, it was such a treat to see them back and on amazing form. There was always a surprising and raw honesty in their podcasts - which is definitely evident here.

Andrew is so naturally funny - in a really unusual way. If you get a chance, buy his stand up DVD from Go Faster Stripe - its so brilliant.

They make the perfect double act. I really, really hope they do another one of these. It would mean the world (or just bring back the podcast...!)

Absolutely the best RHLSTP. Richard and Andrew sound like two mates slagging each other off (whereas the when Stewart Lee is on it comes across as more awkward/uncomfortable.)

Relistened to the last C&H after this, it's not bad at all. A lot of interesting stuff about the Gervais incident and some funny (for the listener) references to what caused the hiatus. I can see why it might not have felt great for the two of them, but it's still likely fun for anyone who liked their previous ones. And Rich does, indeed, bring up the best man stuff during that, but Andrew seems to dismiss it as an insincere joke (understandable, given the context). Of course, it's likely that there's more that happened "off-camera" that we won't ever, and should never, know.

Oh, there's also some excellent stuff about how maybe Savile was involved in very dodgy stuff (the podcast was just after his death) but almost certainly not because, surely, we'd know about it?!

Joe Fangers Every double act needs a straight man.
Considering they first worked together on Andrew's radio show where rich was invited to be amusing about the papers, you can see it wasn't a traditional comedy double act.

indeed the podcast started merely as a way of recreating that radio show when neither of them were on radio at the time.

Over time the power balance changed and I guess that's what did for the relationship but it was great while it lasted

SPOILER --- Was hoping they'd hug.. and they did! Disappointed Andrew showed so much hurt but accept that whatever happened meant a lot to him. Hope they get the podcast back together. Bizarrely I've been falling asleep to it for years .... every night! Something about their ramble that does it for me. Weird, I know. Need new material now. Maybe another RHLSTP first with Andrew relaxing more and the old dynamic allowed to emerge without the hurt feelings.

None of this really matters, of course, except thanks to the sleep thing they're embedded waaaaay too deep in my psyche now.

Even better if they revealed Andrew has been part of the me1 vs me2 snooker podcast this whole time and has been sitting there as an as yet unheard commentator 3 who just hasn't been asked to speak yet.

I've been waiting for this one and it did not disappoint. This was the best RHLSTP of them all. Except – I was waiting for Tiny Andrew Collings to get a mention, and he didn't! Considering the role that character played in the demise of C&H, I wonder if that glaring omission was by design. Awkwardness might have gone off the scale. The original C&H podcasts saw a marked disintegration of their relationship towards the end, and I believed at the time the Tiny Andrew Collings character (a work of demonic genius) was a major cause of it. Andrew clearly resented his Tiny version and didn't quite seem to get the joke.

Andrew's inherent decency comes across here. Also the impression that he's frustrated on so many levels about so many things. 52 and feeling a failure? We've all been there, or are soon going to be there. Solid gold podcast. If RHLSTP is still around next year, we must demand a sequel.

GregDowns the thing is Richard gets tired with his catchphrases and recurring characters quite quickly.
by about the third episode featuring T.A.C he was already doing jokes about how predictable the character was and how annoying the audience was for expecting it every week.

If only Andrew could've ridden out the storm it woudlve fizzled out but the more he reacted to it the funnier it became...hence continuing a cycle of offense/hilarity

He hasn't come back in new AIOTM (yet) so it seems rich is tired of him too.

(aside, he isn't but let's pretend so they'll get back together and do more podcasts eh)

Thanks to the podcast they got a gig filling in for Adam and Joe on 6music. Andrew was then offered the chance to try out for the same spot with Josie Long as co-host (after 6music had kinda dropped Collings and Herrin and Andrew was still an occasional fill-in DJ for the channel) and from thence the fracture occured and the podcast went on hiatus and 1 reconciliation podcast was done, but the magic had gone.

The first 30 or so Collings and Herrin are pretty much like this. After that the "Podcast Richard Herrin" character gradually starts to develop, pushing things far ruder and often far funnier than anything in RHLSTP - but there are a many cringy moments where he seems to be pushing Andrew way out of his comfort zone! On average, as a series, I'd rate C&H at 7.5 / 10.

As a Northamptonian, i'd like to apologise on behalf of my town for Brexit, the Tories, shoes, and whatever else.

Daniel Lecoq a long time ago, Richard did a character based on Andrew in aiotm.
Andrew was fine with it at first but gradually became less fine with it as it went on....
Then Andrew agreed to do a radio show with another comedian that wasn't Richard and Richard got annoyed, so there was tension on both sides I think.

Doesn't matter any more.
they've seemingly made up and are now best friends so expect more from them in the future*

I didn't find Andrew Collins particularly defensive during this, I just found him to be very earnest. Rich almost constantly being snarky (as he does with everyone on the podcast) in opposition to that was pretty painful.
