Like a Feather
Andrew Combs Lyrics

Than watching the wind bend through the tops of the trees
Nothing sets my heart more ablaze
Than to lay beneath this willow and be a pillow for you, babe
Can we stay like this forever?
Together, waltzing across the ground
Floating like a feather
Something in this feeling flying free
Says if Heaven is a place today, we caught it in the breeze
Falling for the future, and falling fast
If this loving wants to linger, let's let this loving last
Can we stay like this forever?
Together, waltzing across the ground
Floating like a feather
May we never come down
May we never come down
I say it because I mean it
I say it because I must
I say it because I mean it
I say it because I must
Can we stay like this forever?
Together, waltzing across the ground
Floating like a feather
May we never come down
The lyrics of Andrew Combs' song "Like a Feather" convey a sense of tranquility and happiness from being able to appreciate the simplicity of nature and love. In the first two lines, the singer expresses that watching the wind bend through the treetops is soothing to their mind, highlighting the importance of finding peace in the present moment. The following lines express the intensity of the singer's love by using the metaphor of laying beneath a willow tree as being a pillow for their partner. The chorus emphasizes the desire for this peaceful and loving moment to last forever and to never come down from this state of bliss.
The second verse speaks to the feeling of flying free and catching a piece of heaven in the present moment. The singer acknowledges the fleeting nature of life by saying they are "falling for the future," but also desires for this love to last, and hopes to savor it for as long as possible. The repetition of the lines "I say it because I mean it, I say it because I must" adds emphasis to the sincerity and importance of the message being conveyed in the song.
Overall, "Like a Feather" is a sweet and endearing love song that urges listeners to appreciate the present moment and cherish their loved ones.
