A versatile composer, he is unable to be pinned down to any one genre of music. As a producer he has created work for companies such as WWF, US Bank and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet; as a songwriter and performer he has toured 6 countries. Last fall he worked with Emily Haines of Metric to create a music and video installation piece at The Four Seasons Centre in Toronto.
Huang developed a near-cult following in his early twenties as the creative force behind Songs To Wear Pants To, an online musical comedy project that invites anyone to send him instructions for songs - of which he's created over 600 since 2004.
More recently he has become a well-known YouTube personality, his self-produced content and grassroots approach garnering him over 6 million views in the past year alone. With more by-request musical exploits, dialogues created from user submissions, and eccentric, time-intense pieces - watch him create a beat with 1000 pairs of jeans! - his work continues to hit a sweet spot between sound, picture and audience interaction.
Lost Woods
Andrew Huang Lyrics

pray tell oh when will you return
i wanna work in the paper fields
and debase the glowing groves, oh oh
until a tree wants to talk to me
delineate his woes, oh oh
and then i go
i traversed the perils of earth
and became a cannonball
to find a city in the sky
i defeated the dragon
beat it and climbed the castle wall
to look into her empty eyes
farewell, my young companion
pray tell oh when will you return
i wanna learn how the magic works
and wake an ancient sword, oh oh
ride a horse through the open grass
assail the demon hordes, oh oh
you never know
i traversed the perils of earth
and became a cannonball
to find a city in the sky
i defeated the dragon
beat it and climbed the castle wall
to look into her empty eyes
farewell, my young companion
pray tell oh when will you return
The lyrics to Andrew Huang's song "Lost Woods" paint a picture of a fantastical journey and a longing for companionship. The singer bids farewell to their young companion and asks when they will return, expressing a desire to work in the paper fields and debase the glowing groves until a tree wants to talk to them and share its woes. The lyrics also express a desire to traverse the perils of earth and become a cannonball to find a city in the sky, defeat a dragon, climb a castle wall, and look into the eyes of an empty-eyed character. Throughout the song, the singer expresses the sentiment of wanting to learn how magic works and ride a horse through the open grass while assailing demon hordes. The repetition of the phrase "farewell, my young companion, pray tell oh when will you return" adds to the sense of longing and loneliness.
