Never Look Back
Andrew Huang Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

i've wasted many days and nights
trying to get the feeling right
feel like an actor in my own life
living like a parasite
i don't need this poison or this pose
baby, i don't need your ghosts
your fatal reasoning's exposed
i'm driving down a different road

and now i'm saying
aw yeah
uh, i'm gonna get it right
i'm gonna live it like everything is better now
aw yeah
uh, i wanna feel this good
i know i can i should always and forever now

i never look back
i'm not holding on anymore
i never look back

i'm never coming back to this
now i know what i'm dealing with
been to the bottom of the abyss
i know that it's so dangerous
don't make me turn around and see
anything you've done to me

'cause now i'm saying

aw yeah
uh, i'm gonna get it right
i'm gonna live it like everything is better now
aw yeah
uh, i wanna feel this good
i know i can i should always and forever now

i never look back
i'm not holding on anymore
i never look back

oh, will this fight never end
oh, i'm only gonna say again that i never look back

i never look back
i'm not holding on anymore
i never look back

i never look back

i'm not holding on anymore
i never look back

Back when this album came out, I bought it on vinyl and played it in my studio apartment I'd moved to after the breakup, with no internet, on a record player powered by a string of christmas lights I was using as an extension cord, this song was an amazing post-breakup song, can confirm.

Andrew, I am so happy you made a video for this song. The lyrics of this have meant a lot to me recently and I've been listening to it a lot to get myself through a rough patch, which I'm not quite through yet . This video just made me smile to go along with the mood the song itself puta me in. Thank you again. You have no idea how much this song means to me.

Wow, I would never have guessed we'd get a new music video from Love & Desolation. Still some of your best work, Andrew.
(P.S. Does this mean a "Defy" video could happen some day?)
