Wasted

Sipping my ocean dry
Emotionally spin me
'Till none of our planets could align
But I could stand you one more night
You are a catch-22, either way I miss out
All of the grief I give you
But I could stand you one more night
I like us better when we're wasted
It makes it easier to fake it
The only time we really talk
Is when our clothes are coming off
I like us better when we're wasted
I like us better when we're wasted
It makes it easier to say it
Lay all your laundry on the bed
And then I'll lay in it instead
I like us better when we're wasted
The song “Wasted” by Andy Duguid featuring Leah talks about a complicated relationship where both parties can’t seem to find a way to make it work. The first line, “You are my glass half empty, sipping my ocean dry” describes how the singer feels like the other person is always taking something away. The next line, “Emotionally spin me ‘till none of our planets could align” explains how they just can’t seem to get on the same wavelength emotionally. However, despite all of these problems, the singer still wants to be with the other person for one more night.
The chorus is where the title of the song comes from, “I like us better when we’re wasted” which can refer to both physically and emotionally being wasted. The singer is saying that it’s easier to pretend everything is okay when they’re both under the influence of something. When they’re drunk or high, they can let their guard down and be more honest with each other. The last line of the chorus, “lay all your laundry on the bed, and then I’ll lay in it instead” conveys the idea that they’re willing to accept everything about the other person, even their flaws and insecurities, as long as they can be together.
Overall, “Wasted” is a song about a relationship that’s not perfect, but the connection between the two people is strong enough to keep them going, even if it’s only for one more night.

Brooo, 100% you get it, it was stylish, it was detailed it was technical, it was a real hearty and arty type of music. It was a little showvenistic ... Walking into the club and this or similar is playing, smiles all round, floating.... memories ... bless bro, thanks for the flashbacks to a time that unfortunately people will never know.
