This Is It
Andy Stone Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A girl consumed by fire
We all know her desire
From the plans that She has made
I had her on a promise
Immerse me in your splendor
All the plans that I have made

This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
She's waited for

This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
Oh this is the one
This is the one
She's waited for

I'd like to leave the country
For a month of Sundays
Burn the town where I was born
If only she'd believe me
Bellona belladonna
Burn me out or bring me home

This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
She's waited for

This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
Oh this is the one
This is the one
I've waited for

Oh this is the one
Oh this is the one
This is the one
I've waited for

This is the one
Oh this is the one
Oh this is the one
This is the one
I've waited for

This is the one
This is the one
This is the one
Oh this is the one
This is the one
I've waited for

I paid her back
Then I got one
This is the one
This is the one
She's waited for

And this is the one
This is the one
Oh this is the one
This is the one
She's waited for

This is the one
Oh this is the one
Ah this is the one
This is the one
I've waited for

This is the one

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Andy Stone's song, "This Is It" tell the story of a girl who is consumed by her desires and plans, and the singer who is caught up with her. The girl is driven by an intense passion for something, perhaps a dream, a goal, or a love interest. The singer is captivated by her and is willing to be immersed in her splendor and make a promise to her.

The song has a sense of urgency and anticipation, with the repeated phrase "This is the one" emphasizing that the moment they have been waiting for has finally arrived. The girl has waited for this opportunity, perhaps to achieve her goal or to be with the singer, and the singer has waited for this turning point, yearning to leave their past behind and start anew.

The imagery of fire and burning adds to the song's intensity and passion, suggesting that the girl and the singer are willing to take risks and face the consequences of their actions. The name "Bellona" and "belladonna" in the lyrics refer to the Roman goddess of war and the deadly poison, respectively, emphasizing the potential destructive power of their desires.

At least the bosses liked Stone enough to order a quick death for him. Unlike Nicky and Dominic who got tenderized with baseball bats and buried while they were still breathing.

Andy was a good and loyal guy. Didn't deserve to get whacked

Matthew Nickerson

They blamed him for his office getting bugged by the FBI and getting Capo Joseph Lombardo a long prison sentence

He wasn't Italian

Quick and painless. That's How all stand up guys should go out.

Chilling to think that the hit man in this scene was a killer in real life.

John Conway

What's even more chilling is to hear him talk. Before he passed he had a podcast called "Coffee with Cullotta." He carries himself with the demeanor of a gregarious old uncle, one that you would never associate with his real life deeds.

@Suq Madiq The guy who fires the first shots is a man named Frank Cullotta. He was one of the people involved in the real life events that inspired Casino. At one point he actually performed a hit on someone out of suspicion they might rat. The feds arrested him and eventually convinced him to become a rat when they played for him a tape of the bosses ordering a hit on him even though he had kept his honor and not talked. Because he cooperated he only served 8 years in prison and when he got out he helped Martin Scorsese write Casino because he was a first hand witness to the real life events.

Who was he?
