Timmons has also played with guitar heroes such as Eric Johnson, Steve Morse, Mike Stern, and with drummer Simon Phillips as a session guitarist. He fulfilled a life-time dream by participating in a G3 concert with Vai and Satriani in Dallas. After playing guitars in the band Danger Danger, he made a kick start to his solo career. He has also toured with artists outside the field of rock, such as Olivia Newton-John and LeAnn Rimes. He also fronts a trio: Andy Timmons Band.

Thank you for that homage, Andy, and for Beautiful Strange.

I saw Jeff Beck live for my first time at the Anthem in DC in October. His performance was superb and I came away from it inspired and energized.

I was also impressed in an unexpected way: Jeff Beck demonstrated that it is possible to play at a very high level deep into old age. Luck certainly is a part of it, but believing you can do it is the essential part of it.

I'm sorry for all Jeff Beck fans that he got called home so abruptly and unexpectedly. At least he was able to put coda to his career on his terms and in a way that matters to his fans and further enhances his stellar legacy.

Such outcomes simply cannot be planned, which make them all the more remarkable when witnessed.

Wow, I heard of Andy Timmons in music circles for years, but never seen him play before. I am a fan after watching this incredible performance, and will be searching out more videos. I am ashamed at 54 years old that I am just now discovering his amazing guitar playing.

You better be happy that you finally found him :) I think he is not only, but better known among guitarists... which is way more of a shame. Oh, and you HAVE to see (and listen to, of course) the Ibanez 90th Anniversary video. Do yourself a favor... it's just mindblowing in my humble opinion. Instantly made me an Andy Timmons fan back then...
