Here's To My Lady
Andy Williams Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Here's to my lady, here's a toast to my lady,
And all that my lady means to me!
Like a hearth in the winter, a breeze in the summer,
A spring to remember is she!

Though the years may grow colder as people grow older,
It's shoulder to shoulder we'll be!
But be it sunshine or shady, here's my love to my lady,
I pray may she always love me!

Though the years may grow colder as people grow older,
It's shoulder to shoulder we'll be!

But be it sunshine or shady, here's my love to my lady,
I pray may she always love me!

"Here's to My Lady" as recorded February 13, 1965 for Columbia Records. This track was first released on the 1991 compilation The Great American Composers: Johnny Mercer. More widely available on the 2003 collection "B-sides and Rarities". This recording shows what a wonderfully talents singer Andy Williams (1927 - 2012) was!

Very nice. Did Andy ever sing tenor in Peterborough Cathedral Choir? Perhaps he would have been first bass. His ascending fourths are slightly flat.
