After a few years of numerous live stints in Sweden and Norway and several non-official EP releases Ane Brun gained her own fan-base and her first official album - Spending Time with Morgan was released at the end of May, 2003 in Scandinavia, and in various European countries in the fall of 2003. The album was released via Ane's own label "DetErMine Records" ("ThoseAreMine Records") that Ane co-owns with Swedish musician Ellekari Larsson and her band The Tiny, and licensed to V2 Music.
A temporary dive released in 2005 built on the first album's success, and is full of songs reflecting on the events following Ane's breakthrough. The fight song records what a struggle it has been, while My lover will go is a haunting tale of woe. One song, Song No.6, features Ane's good friend, Canadian Ron Sexsmith.
In terms of later works, Duets was released in 2005, Changing of the Seasons and Sketches in 2008, and It All Starts with One in 2011 - the first of her Albums to chart outside of Norway / Sweden. A compilation album Songs 2003-2013 was released in 2013.
Ane started her musical career fairly late. It wasn't until she had turned 21 that she took her family's old acoustic guitar to Oslo where she then lived. She quickly found a new best friend in the instrument and for the next two three years she taught herself songs by favourites acts Ani DiFranco, Joni Mitchell, Ben Harper, Nick Drake etc. In the process she began to develop her own style of playing the guitar. In 1998 when on vacation in Spain she brought her instrument (now affectionately named "Morgan") - and her first official live appearances were actually during this trip when she took to the streets in both Barcelona and San Sebastian playing to anyone who would listen, though few would listen.
After this corner had been turned she returned to Norway but now moving to Bergen and things definitely started to happen musically. She started composing her own material and for a while she joined the Norwegian band Damsels in Distress. In 2000 Ane moved to Stockholm and started really venturing out on her own, set on the idea of making a living of performing live with her music.
Since then Ane has been constantly on the road playing everything from the smallest venue to the leading festivals - either solo or with full band (drums, bass, piano electrical and lap-steel guitar). She now lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
She recently collaborated with Koop, an indie swing-funky band, singing in Koop Island Blues, the opening track for the band's last release "Koop Islands"

When we went back to bed,
When we found the first position
And every muscle rested
I do remember that I already
Knew it was the last time,
The last time for first positions
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Do you remember the scars I showed you
The stories I told you
How I always said forever
When you aksed me to stay true
Do you remember when we forgot
How to smile at each other
To believe that the other
Want only whats good for you
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Do you remember the late morning
When we went back to bed,
When we found the first position
And every muscle rested
I do remember that I already
Knew it was the last time,
The last time for first positions
The last time you'll be mine
The song "Do You Remember" by Ane Brun is a melancholic and reflective expression of loss and nostalgia. The lyrics tell the story of a past relationship that has come to an end, and the memories that linger. The opening lines recall a moment of intimacy shared by the couple, as they lay in bed together in a state of deep relaxation. The verses then turn to the failed efforts to maintain the relationship, with the singer recalling her promises of fidelity and commitment, and her partner's inability to reciprocate.
The chorus consists of the repeated refrain "Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao," which serves as a haunting reminder of the pangs of heartache and loss that accompany the end of a relationship. The final verse returns to the image of the couple in bed together, but this time with the knowledge that it will be the last time they share that physical closeness. The repetition of the phrase "the last time" underscores the finality of the moment, and the pain of letting go.
Overall, "Do You Remember" is a deeply emotional and introspective song about the experience of love and loss. It speaks to the universal human experience of longing for what is lost, even as life moves inexorably forward.

Ane Brun absolutely nailed it on this track, no doubt about it! That banger right here got me hyped like crazy, bangaa! I ain't even trippin' if Ane Brun used AUTHENTIC VIEWS to get that mad exposure and get the ball rollin'. Truth is, plenty of other artists be doin' the same thing, Keep slayin' those beats!

You realize how good and musical she is. There is no melody whatsoever just a rythm section and she does the melody over it. Such musicality, what a great voice
Marc Ball
No melody from the music 😅
The guitars are low in the mix there’s definitely a melody there.
Conor Barkey
I mean there's 100% guitars and a bass line. Sure her voice does most of the work but there are entirely instruments.

It's such a shock to see the work of actual artists, in fact, artistic geniuses making music and videos. It makes me suddenly realize how much is missing from most pop culture and art.
Nury Inestroza
That's what makes them real artist, they are not commercial, they are not doing stuff for the money, and what's what pop is about, or that's what story says about the pop culture
