With a cult following, McCluskey is remembered for a car promotion: her voice is heard on Télépopmusik's song "Breathe" in a Mitsubishi ad.
The former lead singer of Wild Colonials released her debut solo CD, The Things We Do, in 2004. Recorded in only a few days in New York and Sweden, the album showcases McCluskey's extraordinary, raw vocals.
In 2009, McCluskey released her second solo album, You Could Start a Fight in an Empty House, including the track "Handle with Grace" (featuring Télépopmusik).
Love Is Stronger Than Death

Love, love, love
Me and my friend we're walking in the cold light of mourning
Tears may blind the eyes but the soul is not deceived
In this world even winter ain't what it seems
Here come the blue skies, here comes springtime
When everything that dies shall rise
Love, love, love
Is stronger than death
Love, love, love
Is stronger than death
In our lives we hunger for things we cannot touch
All the thoughts unuttered all the feelings unexpressed
Play upon our hearts like the mist upon our breath
But awoken by grief, our spirits speak
How could you believe that the life within the seed
That grew arms that reached and a heart that beat
And lips that smiled and eyes that cried could ever die?
Here come the blue skies, here comes springtime
When the rivers run high and the tears run dry
When everything that dies shall rise
Love, love, love
Is stronger than death
Love, love, love
Is stronger than death
Love, love, love
Is so much stronger than death
The song Love Is Stronger Than Death by Angela McCluskey is a poignant exploration of grief and the power of love to transcend it. The opening lines "Me and my friend we're walking in the cold light of mourning" set the sombre tone of the song, which reflects on the ways in which grief can blind us to the true nature of life and death. The lyrics suggest that even in the depths of winter, there is the possibility of renewal and hope, symbolised by the image of the blue skies and springtime.
The chorus, with its repetition of the phrase "Love, love, love is stronger than death" reinforces the central message of the song - that love has the power to overcome even the greatest of tragedies. The second verse takes this theme further by suggesting that it is our unexpressed feelings and desires that weigh heavily on our hearts, but that in the face of grief, our true selves are revealed, and we are reminded of the strength of our spirit.
Ultimately, Love Is Stronger Than Death is a song about finding hope in the midst of sorrow, and trusting in the power of love to see us through even the darkest of times.
