Aparo began playing in a group called Angie's Hope in the early 1990s before making the decision to go solo. After making that decision, Aparo made the decision to go out on the road touring with his acoustic guitar in the Southeast. In 1996, he released his first CD Out of the Everywhere, recorded at David Briggs studio in Nashville Tennessee with Jim Stabile as engineer. Burnard Tate played drums.
In 1999, with Grammy-winning producer Matt Serletic, Aparo released The American. His single "Spaceship" hit the radio waves in 2000, and The American also includes his original version of the single "Cry", made popular by Faith Hill and featured on her album of the same name. Many songs from The American are also on a new live CD 9live that was released in 2004.
While stuck in musical limbo due to record label issues, Aparo released Weapon of Mass Construction (2001) (Re-released under the title One With the Sun): a CD of cover songs taken from varying artists from The Beastie Boys to Neil Young and Elton John, as well as two previously unreleased originals. In his own words, "It was fun, and I got it out of my system." [1]
In 2003, another album -For Stars and Moon, a Beatles-influenced showcase - was released independently. This took Aparo's music in a different direction.
Most recently, Aparo has put together The Infidels, and is touring the southeast while recording a new album with producer Dann Huff. The music again is in a different direction than his previous recordings.
Rotten

Let her wear her diamond shoes
Doesn't matter what you do
She's rotten
I have seen it all before
She ruins everything and more
And if she knocks, don't open the door
Let it roll, Let it roll
Let it roll til all of time unfolds
Baby, you will always be rotten
But I love to dream
Baby, you will always be rotten
You were young and very fine
The sweetest woman on the vine
I don't know what happened
I had forgotten, yeah
And every time it comes to mind
It's rotten, yeah
Let it roll, Let it roll
Let it roll til all of time unfolds
Baby, you will always be rotten
Rotten, yeah
I won't be your downbeat lover
Took all my time to recover
I used to dream but I don't bother now
No, leave those wishes in the clouds
It's easier now, let it roll
Let it roll, Let it roll
Let it roll til all of time unfolds
Baby, you will always be rotten
Let it roll
Let it roll cause I know time unfolds
Baby you will always be
Baby you will always be
Rotten but I love to dream, yeah
I love to dream
Baby you're rotten
But I love to dream
The lyrics to "Rotten" by Angie Aparo convey a sense of bitterness and regret towards a past lover who is described as "rotten to the core." The opening lines "Dress her up in baby blue, let her wear her diamond shoes" suggest that the subject of the song is someone who may be superficially glamorous or appealing, but who has a fundamentally flawed character. The repetition of the word "rotten" throughout the song reinforces this idea, emphasizing that this person's faults run deep and cannot be ignored.
The second verse contains a nostalgic remembrance of the subject's past beauty and charm, but concludes with the acknowledgement that these qualities are now tainted by their true nature. The chorus takes on a resigned tone, with the repeated phrase "let it roll" suggesting a sense of acceptance of the situation and a desire to move on. The final lines "Baby you will always be rotten, but I love to dream" convey a sense of ambivalence - the singer is able to recognize the subject's flaws, but still feels a certain attraction or fascination towards them.
Overall, the song presents a complex and realistic portrayal of a failed relationship, with the singer grappling with conflicting emotions of bitterness, nostalgia, and acceptance.

Angie has a golden voice. I first heard him while having the good fortune to mix his show at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem 20+ years ago.
@LeighAllenPhD
Small world. Don't know how many times he came to Ziggy's but I was there for 2 or 3 of them ~20 years ago.
@Rmslennon
Caught him in Athens, GA a couple times around 2000, 2001. The full band played a rocker of a show. I remember his guitarist rocking the stage too. Then AA had the balls to come out and play acoustically for the encore. This song, the Boxer and maybe something else. It was captivating as hell.
